Does anyone know if Big Cartoon Database is still around? I haven't been able to log onto it in some time.

That sounds odd ... I've had no problems logging on to it at all in recent weeks.

"Curiouser and curiouser," said little Alice. I just checked again one minute ago and the site was working just fine Out Here. (Am I now the only GACer who can make that statement?)

Hmm... I can get on the site without any problems. Do you get a "Page Cannot Be Displayed" or something?

I had this problem a few times awhile back. It seems to be something related to 'malformed' cookies or a membership glitch. Try deleting cookies and re-registering.

I go to it every day with no problem. I love that site. It's the ultimate for info. The message boards, while not as fast as these, never fail to get the best answers to all question that are cartoon.

I couldn't bring up the site for nearly half a year until I moved this past summer and set uop my new workspace and internet connection. Now I can get on fine.

I don't know about BCDB, but I have not been able to get to Jerry Beck's Cartoon Research Forum for weeks. Every time I try to get to it, I get an error page of some kind I've never seen. Is anyone out there able to get to the Cartoon Research Forum?

I virtually never went there... But nooooo, nobody is able to get to that forum... Twas attacked by a very serious hacker (WHY??? ). The only update was that they're working on trying to get it open again but they sounded like all of the old posts appeared to be pretty hopeless
i.e. toast.

It seems that only certain people can't access the site. I wonder if it's got anything to do with IP addresses? Are there any IP range or country-wide bans in force on BCDB?
I can access it from work, but not from home

Thanks Sogturtle ... yeah, I was checking it almost daily leading up to the release of Tom & Jerry Spotlight 2 to see if there was any advance notice of what to expect (and now we know). But it was still a pretty cool forum.

And BTW, as Jerry Beck has pointed out to us in a couple of other threads, it wasn't "his" forum per se, but an affiliated/linked page of independent origin.
