No, I'm not talking about the gunshot scene here. It's just that all versions of this cartoon which I've seen seem to end rather abruptly. Daffy shoots himself in the head, then gets back up and says his line about killing himself to sell a story. Then, there's a rather quick iris-out. If you look carefully, you can see Daffy lie down again as the iris closes... and the music doesn't seem to come to a climax like it does in other cartoon endings.
Was something else deleted, or was the cartoon originally released like this?

It was released this way .....if you look closely you'll find that many WB cartoons ( expecially in the 40s ) use a quick iris out at the end . It is a way to add fun and to end in a fast and funny way ( example : the ending of " Tortoise Wins by Hare " ) .
