I've been wondering this for a while. Bob Clampett's "bayowhup" is probably one of the most versatile sound effects in the Warner library, but I always wanted to know how many cartoons it was used in. I already know of:

- "A Gruesome Twosome", "Draftee Daffy", "Book Revue": Heard during the final iris out
- "Super Rabbit": Heard when Cottontail Smith realizes that Bugs has just placed a horse's feedbag on his face
- "Little Red Riding Rabbit": Heard when the wolf reacts to Bugs' whistling
- "Much Ado About Nutting": Heard when the coconut winks during the iris
- "Cheese Chasers": Heard when the bulldog's ear flops over his eye after Hubie and Bertie scream "AAAHH! Cheese! Don't mention that word!"

And a few times when only half the sound effect was heard:
- "Bugs Bunny Gets the Boid": Heard when Bugs pulls out one of Beaky's tailfeathers (just the "bayo")
- "Drip-Along Daffy": Heard when the "Sherriff Wanted" sign drops down (just the "whup")
- "A Hare Grows in Manhattan": Heard when "baby" Bugs pops out of his rabbit hole (just the "whup")

Anybody else got some contributions?

It's used twice in "Eatin' on the Cuff": first, when the moth stops in front of the bar; then, when the spider takes out the lighter.

It's also heard in the end of "Russian Rhapsody", in "Coal Black and the Sebben Dwarfs", when Prince Chawmin's monocle falls back on his eye and in "The Hep Cat", when the cat touches the dog's nose.

One of the last uses of the sound in the "classic" era of WB is in the cartoon ALL FOWLED UP (1955), when Foghorn Leghorn's muscle droops after having been flexed. Of course, by then Clampett had been gone from the studio for almost ten years. I guess the studio really missed him even then.

Just about, if not all, of the Clampet toons

I may have heard it at the end of a Chuck Jones cartoon once. I remember being surprized to here that there.

At least one Robert McKimson short. In "The Prize Pest" when Daffy turns into a convertable.

I wonder if there were any in Tex Avery WB toons.:befuddled

It's also used in the final scene of Tin Pan Alley Cats

"The Henpecked Duck" - used several times during Daffy's magic tricks

"Wagon Heels" - iris out

"Crowing Pains" - partial sound effect as Foggy pulls the iris closed

(I want to say "Buckaroo Bugs" also used the sound effect at the end after the screen had already gone black, but I might be misremembering)

You remember well, Greg, it's also in Buckaroo Bugs

The sound effect is also heard over the iris-out in "Birdy and The Beast" with Tweety.:tweety:

The sound effect is also used in the Friz Freleng cartoon, "Kit For Cat", when Elmer says "and that's my final warning" after Sylvester taunts Elmer outside his bedroom.

Yeah! and the part where Bayowhup tries to fool Grendel by dressing up as a lady monster was pretty cute too!:D thanks for playing along
