Best Freleng: "Goldilocks and the Jivin' Bears"
Best Jones: "The Eager Beaver"
Best McKimson: "Early to Bet" (I know the cat appeared in more than one cartoon, but he's such an obscure character that it might be considered a one-shot, plusthe cartoon centers around the gambling Bug, who is a one-shot character)
Best Davis: "Dough Raw Me-Ow"
Best Tashlin: "I Got Plenty of Mutton"
Best McCabe: "The Ducktators"

Jones: "The Eager Beaver", "Quentin Quail"

Jones: One Froggy Evening, Now Hear This
Whoa there!!
I hope it's okay to make a reconsideration here... Replace "Now Hear This" with "The Dover Boys". I can't BELIEVE I forgot about that one. I think "Dover Boys" is easily one of Jones' best shorts.

Oh yeah! DUH! I feel stupid! That's one of those answers that was so easy, it was hard. Yes, "The Dover Boys" is easily Jones' best one-shot.

To revive a slightly old thread:
Avery - "I Love to Singa"
Clampett - "Coal Black and de Sebben Dwarfs"
Freleng - "Rhapsody in Rivets" (although there are at least three others that I like equally well)
Jones - "One Froggy Evening"
McKimson - "The Hole Idea"

CHUCK JONES -
One Froggy Evening (okay, the frog came back 40 years later in ANOTHER FROGGY EVENING, but in classic LT term, actually one shot)
Dover Boys
Now Hear This (I thought it was cool, and I would've loved it if this won an Oscar)
FRIZ FRELENG -
Three Little Bops
ROBERT McKIMSON -
Early to Bet
TEX AVERY -
I Love to Singa
I'll think of more later
