Teletoon's new Retro season began with a very good print of "The Flintstone Flyer," complete with original end titles (no drive-in, just the cat putting Fred out ... but the background is a cool deep blue, shadows move with the characters, the lettering looks nice and the camera pulls back to show other Bedrock households reacting to Fred's hollers. First time I've seen this!). :)

But the real surprise was the Jetsons episode ... not the pilot, or any other first-season show, but "The Swiss Family Jetson" from 1984. It has the classic opening sequence (slightly faded). Well ... that ep is 20 years old, so it qualifies as a 'Retro.'

I caught "The Flitstone Flyer" last night too. But when I found out the Jetsons episode was one of the "new ones" I turned it off right away. I can't stand those ones.

I too was surprised to see an 80's "Jetsons" episode. I sat through it, and... it wasn't horrible. As for the Flintstones, it looks like these are the restored prints done for CN that were also used on the DVD's. Edited slightly, though -- the opening tag is gone, and the closing sequence starts with the first page of credits, omitting the Wilma in bed/Fred yawning, covering the birdcage sequence. I ain't complaining, though.
