Does anybody know where I can actually get "The Censored Eleven"? I've been dying to see some of these cartoons.

Shouldn't be too hard. Most everyone that I know on this board has them all.

I'd be interested in acquiring these as well. While I'm asking, I'm guessing no one has full episodes of The Tom and Jerry Comedy Show? I'm in need of them. No Joke! Please PM me if you can help. Thanks.

How come Bugs Bunny Nips The Nips isn't one of the censored 11? Was it banned later?
Anyway, I'm also looking for Inki cartoons (specifically Caveman Inki). Can I get them on VHS or what?
Not sure of the reason, but somehow the C11 only focuses on cartoons featuring portrayls of African-American stereotypes, not Asian (Tokio Jokio is also not included).

The Censored 11 was banned by Turner in 1968. I assume he was mainly concerened with the portrayal of African Americans because this was shortly after the civil rights movements when blacks gained a little more acceptance. Someone else on this forum would probably have a better answer than mine.

I've always wondered why Goin' to Heaven on a Mule wasn't included.

There are some cartoons that slipped through with African American stereotypes, such as "The Major Lied Till Dawn", "Goofy Groceries", "Have You Got Any Castles", "I Taw a Putty Tat", and a few others. Like previously stated, Turner really only focused on shorts whose plot was centered solely on the stereotypes, meaning that they couldn't be edited and still remain coherent.

all the cartoons you've write are CENSOREABLES exept for The Major Lied Till Dawn wich all the cartoon is around black stereotypes
and I dont understand it too why it is not on the censored list plus the pre 1948 inki cartoons

Thanks, Jeff for clearing that up. I guess Nick was the only one that had the rights and chose to show those toons. Except for a few like "Goin' to Heaven", "Lady Play Your Mandolin" and others. I know that CN never played the non-Harman & Ising Merrie Melodies from 1933-1934 on Late Night Black and White either. I wonder why that set is always shunned?

You're quite welcome. Hey, how come almost nobody at this board seems to know the words "thank you"? A month or two ago, when I said that I know where there are lots of cartoons for download via torrents (free file sharing), I was overwhelmed with personal messages from people who wanted them (mostly in "Give me the links!" tone). I replied politely to each and everyone and guess what - after that almost no one bothered to say a simple "thanks". And now - "I need the C11", "You have a PM with link, best wishes...etc", "...". Nothing.
Excuse me, but I find this very bad-mannered and rude. I'm helping others to get what they want, I'm not selling anything, but there is no appreciation. Even if you don't use that information, you can at least thank the person who provided it. I'll keep my info for myself from now on, except for certain people, who know how to comunicate polite. Have a nice day.

If you have issues with the way that people communicate through private messages, don't you think that you should state your issues via private message to that particular person?
If your issues are with things that people say on this board in the threads, then chalk me up as a person who's glad that the board isn't being filled with one word messages, whether that word is "thanks" or not.

Read carefully, it's not just one "particular person".
