View Full Version : Uncensored Tex: Garden Gopher and Droopy's Good Deed

Hey!
Anyone know where I can get uncut versions of GARDEN GOPHER and DROOPY'S GOOD DEED? Oh, and is THE EARLY BIRD DOOD IT censored? The audio cuts out when the worm looks like he is saying "nuts" or something - or it may be part of another censored-type joke in the actual cartoon. HELP!?!?!?
DROOPY'S GOOD DEED is cut even further on the French DVD, yet it is mostly uncut on the Laserdisc - but it is still missing the scene when the dog returns the stuff to the rich guy.
I have a lot of good stuff to trade if someone can help with these cartoons!

The sad thing is I've seen people with it listed in their collection as uncut and complete! They don't know what they are missing! :-(
I wonder how all but those 3 cartoons were left uincut on the Laserdisc set - I mean, why not include those 3 uncut as well?

THE EARLY BIRD DOOD IT is uncut to my knowledge. Uncut copies of the other two taken from film and TV are circulating among collectors.

Yeah I don't think Early Bird is cut at all.
What I read about the other two being censored on the laserdisc is that the original masters were destoyed so when they went to make the laserdisc they had to use masters that were edited. That's just what I read...don't know how true it is.

You can find the uncut version of "Droopy's Good Deed" in some "Mgm/Ua" vhs tape. I have a vhs tape where is included uncut "Droopy's Good Deed" in italian language. Would anyone like seen it?

oh no , I've see the uncut " Droopy's Good Deed" uncensored. So this means it exists in his original uncut form.I have not ben so lucky to see the original version of " Garden gopher" too.

The prints Turner distributes of "Garden Gopher" and "Droopy's Good Deed" are all edited beforehand. The cartoons exist unedited, but you're not getting those versions from Turner itself.
It should also be noted that "Droopy's Good Deed" seems to hold the record for "Most blackface gags on a cartoon without black characters" (Three!)

Well, if anyone has footage cut from these toons, please let me know. I'd love to reconstruct them on DVD with high quality encoding and color-corrected to try to match the added footage as closely as possible.

There's an almost uncut version of Droopy'd Good Deed on YouTube. I say almost uncut because that scene you've mentioned is missing. I saw it thinking it would be uncut.

I wasted money on this too. I'm going to hold on to it until its released for it R1. Or maybe I'll buy the LD Version, even though the Droopy's Good Deed and Garden Gopher were edited on there too, by mistake I've heard. Makes me wish I had A LD Player
