I have been searching for the title of a movie that features snippets of Owl Jolson doing I Love to Singa.

The movie's main character had these daydreams, and one of them was I Love to Singa. I only saw a minute or so of the movie, and I did not get the name.

This has been driving me crazy for a few years. Can anybody help me find the title of this movie?

:confused:The title of that short is "I Love to Singa" (1936, WB, Tex Avery). For more information, see this (http://forums.goldenagecartoons.com/showthread.php?t=3912) thread.

On a side note, Matt Stone & Trey Parker pay a small tribute to this short in one of their South Park Episodes. Cartman has the alien satellite inside him & every once in a while he goes into singing I Love to Singa. Kinda funny.

I'm not sure if that was a tribute. I think they were making fun of the cartoon.

I think it was the very first episode of South Park.
I Love to Singa also appeared in Looney Tunes: Back In Action (2003).

I am familar with Owl Jolson. I was looking for the name of a movie that uses snippets from "I love to singa" in the main character's daydreams.

Any film buffs out there that know what I'm talking about?

You know, when i first read this thread that's what I thought you meant. But then others responded in a different way so I kept my mouth shut.

I don't knwo about the movie though. The only one I know that had clips of "I Love To Singa" was "Looney Tunes: Back In Action" (I think) but not in the "daydream" capacity.

Maybe you want to ask Jerry Beck (start here http://www.cartoonresearch.com/questions.html)?
