Does anybody know if Warner Home Video had any association with The Bugs & Friends lazerdiscs? I am here in Kuwait for a one week trip I found some Dvd's called Bugs and Friends so naturally I picked it up. For most of the post '64 shorts they look terrific remasterd.Shorts like Suppresed Duck,False Hare and Assualt and Peppered have great color and quality.

The art work for the discs and cover are terrific. Wonder if WB Japan Could design a much better cover and disc art for G.A.O.L.T's ?

Can you post some pictures of them? (the Laserdiscs and artwork, not the cartoons themselves)

The Bugs & Friends series is on DVD. Same compilation on the international releases.WBHV should've put these on DVD or VHS they woul've made a great release to The Stars Of Space Jam.Here is the cover art along with the contents.

But are these DVD, or VCD?

I know that the BUGS & FRIENDS series has been on VCD in Asia, which uses MPEG-1 compression and is barely VHS quality.

I might be interested in buying these, especially as many of the cartoons won't see Region 1 DVD release until near the end of the range, if then. But only if they are DVD, not VCD.

Yes, the "Bugs and Friends" releases were issued in Asia as VCDs, some actually pressed by Warner Bros. and some which were clearly bootlegs. Quality-wise they're at best okay to watch.

AFAIK, outside of the movies and those three Japanese Tweety DVDs, the only Looney Tunes DVDs legitimately released overseas by Warner Bros. have been the "Golden Collection" volumes or single versions of the various discs inside them ("All-Stars Volume 1," etc.). Japan has gone an extra step by producing three-cartoon "penny DVDs" for vending machines, but the contents have all been taken from the Tweety or "Golden Collection" DVDs.
