I got the address to Universal/MCA out of a book I own on animation. On my letter's envelope under the address, I put "Attn: please forward to appropriate place concerning Lantz theatrical shorts."
I wrote them a letter. It was just under a page long but it took me over an hour because I made it absolutely as neat and as legible as possible. I looked for a fountain pen in stores but couldn't find one(that would've made it not only neat but attractive). I wanted to make them a hassle fee(ever read a sloppy hand written letter....make you wanna curse!) letter that they wouldn't automaticallt toss, like they probably do typed junkmail and emails.
I explained to them that I took lots of time to do what I did, including how I wrote it with a pen and why. I wrote about how I would pay whatever price for uncut and uncensored Lantz theatrical shorts. I also told them how I don't even own a computer(this is my sisters) so I'm an average Joe type fan but that even I am waiting for these DVDs to happen. I said, however, that there are many Lantz tribute sites on the web and that all of the fans there would buy the DVDs just like me and others who aren't as much a part of the online community.
