Lots of major updates over at The Columbia Crow's Nest (http://columbia.goldenagecartoons.com/)!:crow: :fox: :magoo:

What's New?:

--- The site logo and main page have been modified.

--- Now online is the long-awaited Screen Shots (http://columbia.goldenagecartoons.com/screenshots/) section featuring well over two hundred images from various Mintz, Screen Gems, and UPA cartoons.

--- The Screen Gems History has been extended and split into four parts (it will now include more accurate and detailed histories on the Mintz, Screen Gems, and UPA studios). Right now, only the Mintz history (http://columbia.goldenagecartoons.com/history/mintz/) is online, but expect to see the other parts soon!

--- The Ency-Crow-Pedia (http://columbia.goldenagecartoons.com/ency-crow-pedia.html) has been modified with more accurate information.

--- The What Restoration Can Do (http://columbia.goldenagecartoons.com/restore/) section now has image comparisons for "Boston Beanie".

--- Titles and Themes now has more information and several new images including the original title cards from the lost Winkler Krazy Kat cartoons - only on GAC!

--- The FAQ (http://columbia.goldenagecartoons.com/faq.html) section is now revised with more answers to all your Columbia cartoon inquiries.

--- New Featured Cartoon: "Tree for Two" (1943) with the Fox and Crow.

I'd like to credit David Gerstein for helping me out on most of these updates. Thanks pal! REOWR! :felix:

I noticed that "Lil Anjil", judging by the screenshots, are more Herriman influenced, with Ignatz, Offica Pup, and Mrs. Kvak-Kvak. I was wondering if Krazy was a she, like in the Deitch series.

I'm enjoying the updates too... and I personally had a lot of fun helping with Pietro's vastly expanded and detailed Columbia studio history. I'm pretty sure others should be enjoying it even as we speak... (and it should soon include chapter two... maybe Pietro will have it online shortly!)

Yes, "Lil' Anjil" appears to be the only Krazy Kat cartoon that matched the original George Herriman Style. Some of the animation in thie one looks as though it may have been done by Preston Blair. What is also interesting is that the voice of "Officaffah Bull Pupp" sounds like Bill "Red Pepper Sam" Costello, the original Popeye voice. This cartoon was released seven months after being fired as the voice of Popeye. His last Popeye recording was for "You Gotta Be a Football Hero."
