The one where it looks like there's a single hair caught in the projector.

Tex has used that joke twice that I know of, once at Warner Brothers (Aviation Vacation), and once at MGM (Magical Maestro).

Freleng used a similar gag in THE CAT'S TALE, where the mouse suddenly pulls out a piece of film dirt and shakes it off his hand in disgust.

This is one gag that only works when the short is projected through movie theaters.

I was confused when I saw that gag on TV the first time.

I saw a clip of a cartoon with an Irishman singing and then notices a hair in the projector. Does anyone know which cartoon that is?

That's Tex Avery's "Aviation Vacation."

Is that the one that was featured on "Behind the Tunes: A Conversation with Tex Avery" on the second Golden Collection?

From the Censored LT page:

"Aviation Vacation" (Avery; 1941):
CN: Two entire racial stereotype scenes were removed altogether. One scene has an African native using a blowgun. It is revealed that he was merely aiming at a practice target. A second native comments, "Terrible shot, Joe. Terrible shot." The other scene shows African natives pounding their drums and making signals. One native asks another, "What did they say?" The other native says (imitating drum sound), "Boom di di boom di di boom boom boom boom..."
I have the uncut cartoon and it is banned I think from uncle Ted.
