More like a cheater cartoon, in a way.
I read that they reused animation from the Jones cartoons for this cartoon. The last time I saw it, I remember Wile. E. carrying explosives, much like what he used to in the Jones cartoons.
Yes, almost all of the Road Runner and Coyote animation was from previous Jones cartoons, primarily ZOOM AND BORED, WILD ABOUT HURRY, HOPALONG CASUALTY.
Watching it on Nickelodeon as a kid was a real treat, but watching it again now...

It's a novel concept, but it just looks too frickin' weird. You have traced and recolored versions of full mid-50s animation with badly drawn, choppy mid-60s animation kinda pasted on top. A better version could probably be done nowadays with Photoshop.
A couple of other DFE cartoons have this same sort of odd "visual clashing" effect, most notably of course "A-Haunting We Will Go" (in which actual Bugs Bunny animation is utilized...shudder) but also "Cats and Bruises."
I will give it this, though: I don't mind watching it. Maybe it's just me who does this, but I would probably lump it in the same category of cartoons that are fun to watch late at night.
