I have some extremely rare original b/w Terrytoons from Eductional Pictures.Original title Terrytoons are very hard to find, so enjoy these rare title cards from "FARMER AL FALFA'S APE GIRL (1932).

Wow. Send those to Jerry Beck. He could use it on his Cartoon Research site.
And I have to comment...that is one large MPAA logo in the end credit.

I must say that these are some of the nicest original title cards from the early 30s that I have ever seen. It's a shame when CBS replaced the original titles with those lousy square titles with the new look Terrytoon logo.

You can blame Gene Deitch for that. He was the one who designed the logo ;)

I will post that soon -- but please note that I provided this cartoon to Nelson.

DOUBLE WOW! And oh, my poor lower jaw. Thanks to everyone at GAC, I've been having to pick it up off the floor a lot lately. :D
(But BTW, weren't the Terrytoons already being saddled with refilmed titles before Gene Deitch ever set foot in the place?)

Thanks for sharing these Nels! First time I'd seen the "Educational" moniker.
These are so much classier than what one normally finds on the 16mm Terrytoon prints.

They were the cartoons produced by Paul Terry and released by 20th Century FOX. Some of their more memorable characters include Mighty Mouse and Heckle & Jeckle. Jerry Beck's site can give you more info.

Does anyone have any "Sad Cat" cartoons? I'm curious to see how Ralph Bakshi's early animation attempt, even though the budget is the TV animation level.

Educational always had handsome title cards - sometimes it seems like they put more money into the cards then into the films.
Anyone else have interesting titles scans that haven't made in into Jerry Beck's site>

Even though many critics considered Terrytoons at the bottom of the barrel, I will say that when it came to animating women, the Terrytoon animators did a excellent job in that dept. With the title character in this picture, "Ape Girl" is a queen of the jungle flapper and she looks like a cross between the "It" girl, Clara Bow and Louise Brooks and for those who will get the chance to see this raunchy pre-code cartoon, you will notice on how well animated she is.

In the old package of black & white Terrytoons that were circulated back in the early 1960's, there were original titles on THE SULTAN'S CAT. I was pretty young at the time, but remember that it was the look of the titles to that cartoon that impressed on me for the first time that these were old movies, and not something new.
