This has just been announced that on July 11th and 12, 2005, the Film Forum in new York City will present as part of a month long tribute to Paramount Pictures in a festival titled, "Paramount Before The Code".The festival will showcase the raunchy films made before the infamous production code of 1934 and the Fleischer Studios will get their own special screening called, "From Boop To Nuts" that will cover the studio's pre-code years with the Talkartoons, Screen Songs and of course Betty Boop.:betty:
More details soon!

Same here...part of the curse of living on the East Coast is the lack of animation related events taking place in NYC (which I still find very strange) in comparison to the West Coast. This involves a 1 1/2 hour train trip from Beacon NY right into Grand Central Station (a lengthy but pleasant trip!). Once into Grand Central, it's a 15-20 minute subway trip to Houston Street. Here is the address and phone number of the Film Forum for those interested. I don't see anything posted on their website at this early date...

I hope to make it down there! :betty:

Try living in the South. Wish there were events in the Atlanta area.

A word to the wise toonheads that plan to attend this screening, as I strongly suggest that you get to the Film Forum and arrive early, cause all the screenings will sell out quickly. When Film Forum screens classic cartoon showings, each one of them sells out...Especially for the Fleischer cartoons.

Thank you, Mr. Hare, and let me add here that the Film Forum website now lists this event but also says it will not be selling these tickets online.
So who's for an all-night tailgate party outside the Forum while we wait for the box office to open? :D
