I knew it! I knew GAC meant "Golden Age of Cartoons"! I was the first to say so back at the thread at TZ!

Great job with this board, guys! And thanks for the early advice! I feel so honored...

Backgrounds and the boards look great, guys. Congratulations on expanding the GAC space on Toonzone.

Now if we could only get Time-Warner or Viacom to care as much about the cartoons ...

Thanks! I handled the model sheet backgrounds and Jon did the logo, as well as the designs on the TTTP and the Funnies board. David Gerstein and myself designed the logo for "The Looney Bin."

Great smilies and lots of 'em already, and yet...

While I know this might be problematic since we're already full up with mice, ducks, bears, cats and crows, where, oh, where can the Terrytoons smilies be?

To avoid any of the above-mentioned redundancy, there could always be Tom Terrific, Kiko the Kangaroo(!!), Clint Clobber, Deputy Dawg, or Farmer Alfalfa. :D

Anyway, that's today's Greedy Geezil Request. And thanks.

Fethry Duck.:fethry: I am actually surprised to see him here. I believe I read somewhere that he was created for the modern European Donald Duck comics, and I don't believe he's ever been in a cartoon. But I could be wrong.

Oh, come on, now. She's really not all that annoying. Just for comparison's sake, if you want a Fleischer/Famous character (since they were created by basically the same crew) who strove to be annoying and succeeded, that'd be Gabby...!

Or Shorty.... maybe even Casper.

If you've ever seen ALL of the 16 Audrey cartoons, and therefore can make a good judgement on how she's annoying, then I repect your opinion. Personally, I kind of like her, some of the cartoons are quite beautifully animated and have very child-like content, perfect for enjoyment of all ages. The early ones really do capture that romantic-era filmmaking of the 40s and 50s in a cartoon.

It's too bad Famous never got around to doing a "special" short in which Shorty and Gabby were left alone in a locked room* with a bow & arrow and a russian roulette pistol (and much "hilarity" would have ensued before the two dispatched each other to Toon Heaven for good and all).

(*Popeye, of course, would have walked off down the hall chuckling as he swallowed the key.)

As for Casper, according to a relative of mine who takes some stock in ghostly encounters (and indeed believes she's been on the receiving end of at least a few such meetings), all ghosts are annoying to some degree ... which would make Casper a loser in that department by default.

 But I'm a bit puzzled on your Little Audrey comments ... were they aimed toward me, or Philo & Gunge (no offense intended) before me? I'm entirely with you on Audrey's level of appeal, which, IMO, would make any "annoyance" minor at worst. Sorry if I didn't quite deliver on that point.
