I'm a frequent Cartoon Network watcher, but honestly I haven't tuned in to Boomerang much. I know they are airing Looney Tunes and I have a few questions about them:

1) Do they show edited versions (politically correct) or do they show them as intended?
2) Do they show a wide range of the Looney Tunes shorts, or do they just focus on a certain time period?
3) How's the quality?

thanks!

I watch Boomerang everyday so I think I can answer this one:

1) Edited...dubbed...you name it. If it is controversial...it is out.
2) They show a full range of Looney Tunes in every time period.
3) Quality varies with each short, but they are bearable to watch for the most part.

Also, I notice that some days they seem to do a "theme" like chickens, or fighting shorts, or ones that are all about dogs, but that is not true everyday...if it is...then I am not always picking up on the theme.

Hope this helps!

1) personally, I have noticed they have shown edited & unedited

2) It seems they are wide range at times ( dont see much B & W toons though)
3) The quality is pretty good. Really good if you use DVD Recorder or Tivo & S-Video & record it.

This has been my experience so far with the toons on Boomerang.

They do show the edited/dubbed versions.

Apparently, I want to point out that after the xylophone gag at the end of "Show Biz Bugs," they immediately cut to the end, without Daffy doing that gag where he drinks the explosives and essentially "kills" himself for audience approval.

I too have noticed that sometime back. Yet South Park can do what it wants, but Daffy & Bugs aren't allowed to jack.

they have a weird mix - since they showed Pilgrim Porky with certain characters. But they did snip Horton Hatches An Egg.

But you do get to see the impacts on the Roadrunners.

I know "Wild and Wooly Hare," which has been edited numerous times. I've seen it on Nickelodeon fully unedited, with the beer gag as well as the scene where Bugs shoots Yosemite Sam instead of shooting corks in the can.

Cartoon Network left out the beer gag. But the shooting gag still remains.

That's primarily because Boomerang is under the impression that "Looney Tunes" are for kids. "South Park" is geared towards adults, so it can do pretty much anything.

That's a very good point. I don't know many adults who are South Park fans, but I know quite a few adult Looney Tunes fans.
