Barney Bear and Andy Panda cameo in a Disney comic

I thought this was funny. In Don Rosa's Donald Duck story "The Crocodile Collector" (printed in Gladstone DD Adventures #8, 1988) there are some familiar non-Disney faces among the animals at Uncle Scrooge's zoo. Barney Bear, Benny Burro (Barney's donkey sidekick in the comics and two animated shorts), and Andy Panda! This is an in-joke/reference to the fact that Carl Barks drew stories with all three characters at one point:

That's a really funny in-joke, Jon. It's good to see that Rosa is familiar with characters out of the Disney studio, or at least ones that Barks worked with (there weren't any pigs or hideously drawn rabbits in that zoo, were there? ;):bugs2: :ham: ).

Rosa always has a lot of funny stuff going on in the background of ALL his stories, this was a perfect example!! That's why it always takes me 2 or 3 times as long to read his stories!!
