The official Looney Tunes website at http://looneytunes.warnerbros.com/ has recently been redesigned. It now features a lot of new content, including the first two of the "Season 3" webcartoons (http://looneytunes.warnerbros.com/web/toons/toons.jsp): "The Cat Stays in the Picture" (with Sylvester and Tweety) and "H2 Uh-Oh!" (with Bugs and Daffy). Unlike the previous webcartoons, it seems that these new ones aren't relying on lame TV and movie parodies.

Three of the old ones are on the website too. I guess they figure that they can't possibly make the DVD sales of those two webtoon DVDs any worse by putting a few of them online.
I wonder if we'll be seeing a DVD release of these "Season Three" webtoons now. They already announced the second Golden Collection knock-off, "The Spotlight Collection," so I guess they might release some more webtoons too to follow last year's format...

I hope we see more cartoons like "The Cat Stays in the Picture". That has to be the best webtoon they've done yet, IMO. :sylvester :tweety:

"The Cat Stays in the Picture"
That's a play on the title "The Kid Stays In The Picture" the documentary about film producer (and star of the crappy cartoon Kid Notorious) Robert Evans.

I really like the opening titles for "The Cat Stays in the Picture" (click to see larger versions):

"The Cat Stays In The Picture" was pretty good. I liked the match between :sylvester and Crusher.
I didn't care for "H2 Uh Oh" that much. :daffy: was too greedy here.

I liked TCSITP alot, the best one so far.
I kinda liked H2 Uh-Oh. Just kinda.

"The Cat Stays in the Picture" was the best they've done yet - the designs resemble that of the Clampett and Davis cartoons.

Now if these were longer, they could show them in theaters! And if they had nicer animation quality.
The Cat Stays in the Picture is the first webtoon I've seen. And I must say, if it's the best one they've had, I am never going to buy those web toons DVD. What utter crap!
1) Tweety's voice - just plain awful, they need to speed it up more or something
2) Tweety's size kept changing in his swing
3) Tweety's character was more like Bugs Bunny with the half-lidded eyes ("You were expecting Cecil B. DeMille maybe?")
I won't even pick on the animation because it is, after all, only flash...
On the other hand, I thought H2Uh-Oh! was much better than TCSITP. At least the characters were closer. I agree Daffy was too greedy but he did throw in a couple "Woo-hoo"s and that's gotta count for something.
Taz was useless in this cartoon and I have a feeling he was thrown in because he's a "popular" character nowadays.
Some of the good bits were:
Bugs: "Some day that duck is going to remember he can fly"
- the "Eat at Joe's" reference
- I actually liked the big fat kid with man-boobs

I am never going to buy those web toons DVD. What utter crap!I dunno, I may buy the new DVD's with these season 3 shorts. I like both. But I hate the character desings in TCSITP.
Two new webtoons available today at http://looneytunes.warnerbros.com/web/toons/toons.jsp
"Bunk Bedlam" - a pair-off between Bugs and Sylvester (a first?)
and
"Yosemite Slam" - a horribly-voiced Sam with Porky & Daffy
Flash animation seemed pretty obvious in these two as their limbs seemed hinged, etc. I did like some of the gags in "Slam" such as Sam's repeated use of the "No" light/buzzer and the bandaging up of Sam's moustache...
I still think H2-Uh-Oh was the best out of the 4, but that ain't saying much.

Jeff

"Bunk Bedlam" was alright.
Interesting pairing there.
Sylvester Jr. sounded like Daffy in this one.
I liked the guyser bit.
"Yosemite Slam" wasn't that great.
nice ending, though.
I just re-watched The Cat Stays Into the Picture and if I keep reminding myself "It's only a web-toon, it's only a web-toon" then I can actually enjoy it.
I also can't help thinking "Well, the Looney Tunes themselves didn't start out as masterpieces in the early 30's". Give these guys a bigger budget and they could start to put out some half-decent web-toons...I wonder how far Flash could be taken with this.
Regards,
Jeff
Sylvester's design in that cartoon reminds me of when he was animated by Emery Hawkins for a few scenes in cartoons like "Doggone Cats" and "All Abir-r-r-d!" (though it really looks like Spumco did it in most parts), which actually is a bad thing. Animation is at its best when the animators change throughout the shorts, a character looking the same through the whole thing makes it boring (which it does to "The Cat Stays in the Picture").

I still like Sylvester's design in "Cat Stayed in the Picture". I thought it was very expressive and more interesting to watch than the animated generic clip-art look of the earlier webcartoons. I hope they continue to experiment with the designs of the Flash cartoons.
I am actually enjoying this latest batch of webtoons much more than the earlier ones. They can't compare to the original LT shorts, of course, but they are fun way to kill a couple minutes on the Internet. For those who missed the first couple "seasons" of webcartoons, you didn't miss much. It was mostly the LTs thrown into a lame parody of whatever TV show or movie was popular at the moment (Survivor, Judge Judy, Fear Factor, The Matrix, Who Wants to Be a Millionaire, etc)...and the results were terrible. The only stand-outs were ones where they didn't rely on parodies, like the one where Porky attempts to deliver a pizza to Daffy's apartment or where Foghorn and Dawg were rival window washers.

Two new cartoons have debuted on Looney Tunes.com -
"Bunk Bedlam" with Bugs Bunny, Sylvester, Sylvester Jr., and Clyde Rabbit (with the design of the rabbit from "Rabbit's Kin")
"Yosemite Slam" with Daffy Duck, Porky Pig, and Yosemite Sam
Both aren't TV parodies or that good. You also have the option of pausing the cartoon (so you can make the screen captures easier...)

"The Cat..." one was pretty good... it stayed true to the original Sylvester and Tweety chase shorts without going "over-the-top"... I also thought animating them in the classic style was a nice touch as well.
The pizza short with Porky and Daffy I also liked, because it too had the classic LT formula. (I especially loved the scene with Porky running up and down all the stairs in an Escher-like background X3) The ending, however, I would've changed..... it was out-of-character in my opinion (as well as really disgusting). ^^;

I just saw "The Cat Stays In The Picture", and "H2 Uh-Oh", and for a couple of web cartoons, they weren't that bad. Not the best, but certianly a small step in the right direction. "TCSITP" had a nice look that was reminiciant of John K, and Spumco. "H2UO" was classic Bugs, and Daffy rivalry, but the ending was too abrupt, though. Nice voical work from Joe Alaskey.
"TCSITP" had a nice look that was reminiciant of John K, and Spumco.
That's what I think too... I really think it was done by Spumco or at least someone who worked there once... I mean, who else would use vintage soundtracks and designs of two popular characters from their earliest years? It's too bad they don't put credits on these things...

A few toons are now up:
Full Metal Racket: So-so toon. Ending was surprising when Sylvester and Tweety actually teamed up against R.Me.Ant, who may have been voiced by lee ermey.
Daffy's Meet Market: Weakest one of the bunch save for the Tony Little duck, voiced by Tom Kenny.
Gone in 30 Minutes: best one of the bunch. I liked the stairs scene the best.

Lee Ermey, perhaps one of the most shameless self-parodying actors in recent years.
