Up here in Canada, a new channel has been added to our cable system called Moviola. It shows all short films, which includes cartoons. The cartoons I saw today came from Warner Bros, Fleischer, Famous studios, & Terrytoons. I'm sure they feature cartoons from other studios. Unfortunately, the toons are mostly in public domain (the ones I saw anyway) and the prints were not of the highest quality. But, it was great seeing them all the same. (The Looney Tunes I saw were Presto Change-o (by Chuck Jones c. 1939) and the Oscar nominated Pigs in a Polka (by Friz Freleng c. 1943)).

But they show live action films as well. Some of them are even the hilariously lame theatrical serials that SCTV made fun of with their own Six Gun Justice.

Definitely an excellent channel that every Canuck should check out.

Not all of us think those movie serials are "hilariously lame". Some of us like them.

Moviola only shows public domain cartoons.

Whoa!!!!!!! Where does this channel originate (that is, in Canada for Canadians?), and do they have a website at present? (I'm coming up empty on the search engine so far.) Thanks...!!

Great site. Thanks! And from the initial evidence, it appears it might take an act of Congress to get Movieola installed on U.S. cable systems ... so who's going to be the first in line with a letter to their elected representative? :D

But I guess using the letter to cable providers included on Movieola's site might not hurt either.
