A recent post about "Mr. and Mrs. Is the Name" got me thinking. They may not have been the funniest cartoons that WB produced, but I think many of the cartoons of the mid-'30's are very good and highly underappreciated. The studio was transitioning from a cute, Disney-like style to the manic style that it is best known for, but it wasn't all the way there yet. I would hope that some of these show up on a future Golden Collection. Here is my list of some of these:

Mr. and Mrs. Is the Name
At Your Service Madame
I Wanna Play House
I'd Love to Take Orders from You
I Haven't Got a Hat (the first Porky cartoon)
Gold Diggers of '49 (Tex Avery's first for the studio)
Porky's Road Race

Any others (from WB or any other studio)?

Yep, especially the ones with that farmer fella ...!! :D (But I can appreciate 'em all.)

Another underappreciated cartoon from the mid-'30's: "She Was an Acrobat's Daughter." My daughter (who is not an acrobat's daughter :D ) loves the "Don't spit on the floor" gag.

The early Walter Lantz shorts are most underappreciated. Such creative talent went into those shorts and yet Universal still neglects to officially release them on video tape or DVD!
