Back on TZ (http://forums.toonzone.net/showthread.php?goto=newpost&t=130014) they said that Jerry Orbach, the longtime stage and television star who did the voice of Lumiere in Disney's Beauty and the Beast, passed away last night (28) at the age of 69. :(

That's terrible. My mom loves Law & Order so this will be awful for her. My prayers go to Mr. Orbach's family. :( :(

And it will also be recalled that Mr. Orbach was there at the dawn of The Fantasticks, which for Mr. and Mrs. Geezil makes his loss sadder still. We too will keep his family and all who were close to Mr. Orbach in our prayers.

Not totally off-topic: There is a connection. A few years ago, Jerry Orbach starred in the revival of the musical 42nd Street on Broadway. This was a movie back in 1933, released by Warner Bros. Much of the music from the musical was used over and over in various WB cartoons, even before the arrival of Carl Stalling.

Jerry's stage career summary is at this PBS (http://www.pbs.org/wnet/broadway/stars/orbach_j.html) site.
Ben Brantley and Richard Severo of The New York Times have crafted an excellent article (http://nytimes.com/pages/arts/index.html).
