Hi. I am new to this forum so I hope I'm posting in the right place. Some time during the 70's (I believe earlier 70's) there were cartoons that were played sometimes among the Loony Tunes cartoons. They were very characteristic in the animation. Generally there was not a central figure. The people were animated very much like people in the early Pepe Le Pew cartoons (longish exaggerated features). One particular cartoon I remember was a “documentary” of a dog show where the unseen narrator talked about each dog (the Boxer would be sitting there and then jump up with boxing gloves on, the Scottish Terrier would have a kilt on and play bagpipes, etc.). I loved those cartoons but have no idea who did them or how I can find out. Does anyone know? I’d appreciate any help!! Thanks.

Warners did two cartoons like that, though from your description, it sounds as though the cartoon it's more likely to be is Robert McKimson's "Dog Tales" from 1958. It manages to feature a chihuahua with Speedy Gonzales' voice, a French poodle with Pepe Le Pew's voice and a guest appearance by Charlie Dog (with Charlie Dog's voice).

The other semi-spot gag cartoon with dogs was Freleng's "Dog Daze", but since that's from 1937, it in no way, shape or form has any characters looking like the ones in Jones' Le Pew series.
