In the mid/late-90's, Cartoon Network would air little segments during commercial breaks titled "Cartoons That Didn't Make It." In them, they would show (obviously fake) cartoon concepts that were so ridiculous that even an amateur would've never dreamed of them. Frothy Dog, and Salt And Slug are two that I remember. But what are the others? Are they on Youtube (and if so, could you please post a link)?

Marty:
Seems to me that if you are at a computer asking for links to things you want to see..Doesnt it stand to reason that you could search this out yourself and share the links with us?..Just sayin..

Seems there was one about a grouper (you know, the fish?). "Grouper, He's a trooper!" Ugh
That's all the ones I can remember. They were retarded and they ran them constantly as bumpers to the point of being extremely annoying.

These were all done by an NY-based studio called AMP NYC Animation I believe. You can watch all of 'em here. (http://www.ampnyc.com/) (including some material that aired on MTV's Cartoon Sushi)

Actually, I thought they were funny. They weren't really "real" cartoons, were they?
In response to Tim Lones, I realize that. But I figure, if somebody perhaps already knows of a site with such links (as ST did), it never hurts to reply.
In the mid/late-90's, CN aired a lot of these things in the ground. There was Cartoons That Didn't Make It, The Cartoon Network Thing To Do, letters to CN (sometimes, but not always, with sarcastic/joking replies - such as in response to this one girl asking about hamster cartoons). And there may be a few others I'm not remembering, as that was about 12/13 years ago. You know, back when Carrot Top was still CN's spokesperson and they still played actual cartoons.

They only made four of those? Sheesh, no wonder some of you grew tired of them after a while.

The only one of those cartoons I liked was Salt and Slug.

Remember, though, that they were SUPPOSED to be lame. ;)

"Salt and Slug" (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rvIh8JvyaYA) and "Frothy Dog" (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rrnTZdQVk1M) were and are some of the funniest cartoon parodies I've ever seen.
