According to this site (http://www.stitchkingdom.com/2009/09/06/bret-iwan-named-as-new-voice-of-mickey-mouse/), the person hired to replace Wayne Allwine as the voice of Mickey Mouse will be Bret Iwan.

Well, it's nice to know that Disney found a replacement. I wish Bret the best of luck! Like said on Toon Zone, he has some big, yellow shoes to fill in!

Remember Iwan, you're only filling in for the boss.

Well, I hope Bret does a good job doing Mickey.

"I hope."

When I clicked the link about 34 pop-up copies of that hateful, obnoxious, :mad:StichKingdom:mad: .net or .com or whatever came up on my monitor, and a 100 more would have had I not unplugged my ISP. Everything's fine now but what an obnoxious way to promote your sorry website.

However thanks to you Nintendo for reporting the news so I could read it harmlessly.:)

It's good to know that Mickey will not be silenced for long, but is there a audio clip that demonstrates Bret Iwan actually doing the voice?

Oh, and I viewed the link under Firefox also.

I viewed it on IE and had no problem. Do you have any pop-up blocker on, DaffDoc?

I don't know about the voice, but here is a link (http://www.stitchkingdom.com/2009/09/07/finding-mickey-exploring-the-art-of-bret-iwan-voice-of-mickey-mouse/) that demonstrates some of his Mickey artwork(it actually links from the same site.)

Funny, it works fine for me and I'm still using Internet Explorer.

All right, you asked for it, here (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FuFzG9NWUVU) is a clip that includes Bret as Mickey.

Not bad. Sounds like the 1980s/early 1990s Wayne Allwine Mickey voice!

At least they didn't pull some weird move like hiring Dan Castellaneta or something to voice Mickey :P

According to an article that was linked here shortly after Wayne's death, Brett was trained by Wayne as one of auditioners for the next voice of the mouse.

Yeah, Bratt did a good job. I wonder if he was at the D23 expo that was held this weekend? That would be a good way to introduce Mickey voice # 4 or 5 or whatever.

That reminds me of the way Clarence Nash taught his successor.
It's nice that these voice artists care about the characters' futures.

I know Mel Blanc tried to do the same thing with his son.
But I guess Noel didn't have his heart in it.

Mel Blanc KIND OF gave pointers to Joe Alaskey and Bob Bergen, although it really wasn't in the "I'm teaching you how to do these characters for when I die" sort of way. Really just in random socializing. Like, "This is how i do the characters. Cool huh?"

To think that Disney may still consider that MICKEY has some continued value after all. There is hope yet! And wouldn't you know this would happen after I left L.A. I can do MICKEY too, and was acknowledged by Ford Banes, who was the uncredited replacement to Walt Disney before Jim McDonald, who is always credited for this.:mickey:

Why didn't Disney contact you to voice Mickey, Ray?

Of course Disney still considers Mickey have some continued value – they make an absolute fortune from this character! Unfortunately the most popular current Mickey project right now seems to be that horrible CG preschool Clubhouse show. However, as much as I may hate it, it must be hugely profitable for Disney judging from all the promotional stuff and merchandise I've seen.

I'm glad that Mickey's got a new voice and it seems to be by someone who really cares about the character, which is a great plus. With Lasseter at Disney Animation, I don't think it will be too long before we see some new Mickey projects (aimed at a broader audience than just babies), even if it's just the occasional new short.

Mickey Mouse has now become known for being aimed at toddlers. I hope we get Mickey back, but I don't think it's too likely.

Just as long as Mickey and pals aren't rendered in that ugly CGI garbage that Disney and every animation studio is fond of nowadays.
