View Full Version : What about a Warner Bros cartoon film project blog?

I've got this crazy feeling that there should be a Warner Bros cartoon (1930-1969) film project blog. It's similar to the Disney Films Project blog I've been reading up on. It should be done by someone who has access to the entire library.
Who agrees with me?

Sounds like it could be a cool idea.

I would definitely read it! Any volunteers to build it?

Well, I'd certainly read the blog if it every comes to the light of day. I'm not volunteering though. For starters, got my own blog to take care of. That, and I don't have every WB cartoon.

I have every WB cartoon, but I'm in college and I'm sort of busy. I think you're going to have a hard time finding one person to do all this. What if a few people did it together?

That's what I meant to say. Collaborate, people!

I really like this idea, too. I archived my classic WB cartoon collection onto DVD a year or so ago, so I have pretty much everything readily available for screenshots and whatnot. I just don't have enough time for such a massive project by myself either. I would be happy to pitch in with others, though.
I also shudder at the thought of having to rewatch all those post-64 cartoons again so soon. Maybe in another ten years or so. :p

I'd be happy to help with a project like this. I've done something similar at my livejournal, but it's gotten bogged down because I lack time. I do have all the cartoons, courtesy Thad. :)
I'd happily read the blog(s). I've only got 300 odd shorts from the GC's and nothing else, so i would be the last person to volunteer. Good luck, hopefully it gets off the ground.

Funny that this should come up at this time- as I mentioned a while back, I'm preparing to teach a course about the history of WB cartoons, and for that purpose I have found a torrent of the complete collection, which I have been downloading over the past week or so, in order to watch them all and make selections for the course. So, I'd be happy to take notes as I go along. Don't know if I could be as thorough in reviewing them as the Disney blog is, but I could do something, and maybe someone else could pad it with more detailed observations.
I'm downloading the torrent a year at a time and doing so backwards, so I'm only up to (or is it down to?) 1956 and so have quite a ways to go, but if I and a collaborator or two could get the idea off the ground, I believe I could start around August.
