Okay, so about 6 years, I started mentally planning ideas for a feature film about that beloved Disney star Pluto. 4 years ago, I posted a script on this very forum which if you look around hard enough, you'll find it. Due to myself evolving as a writer and consider the first film's too close for comfort similarities to Bolt, I have begun to re-write The Pluto Movie and will be posting the script here. These first scenes aren't actually funny at all (really all exposition at this point), but it's certainly a lot better than what I had before. So here we go!

1.Walt Disney Pictures logo
Essentially the same Walt Disney Pictures logo we’re accustomed to seeing.

2.Walt Disney Animation Studios logo
Just as with #1, the WDAS logo is the same Steamboat Willie-centric logo we’ve seen on all recent Disney animated features.

After the studio logos, we see a black screen with white text on it reading "This motion picture is dedicated the memory of Wayne Allwine, who did not start a mouse... but certainly defined a mouse." Fade to movie's opening...

EXT. City skyline – night
The movie fades in to an establishing shot of a New York-inspired city skyline. Ominous Danny Elfman-type music begins to play.

FADE TO: City street
The camera pulls down from a shot of several large buildings in the city.

PAN TO: Exterior of bank.
On the busy city street at night, an alarm goes off inside the bank and two duck robbers run out in trenchcoats carrying bags of money.

CUT TO: Sidewalk
From the sidewalk, we see an anthropomorphic police car drive up to the front of the bank. The front doors open and Donald Duck and Goofy, both donned in “Miami Vice” garb, get out the car and enter the bank.

INT. Bank – night
Donald and Goofy walk over the bank owner, Scrooge McDuck, to ask him about the situation. Various bank patrons look on in confusion.

DONALD

So what happened in here?

SCROOGE

Aye, I don’t know how they did it! They got into the vault and managed to get most of me money!

DONALD

Any physical description you can give us?

SCROOGE

Two ducks!

DONALD

That narrows it down quite a bit. We’ll get back to you if we get any updates.

SCROOGE

Thank you.

Donald begins to walk out.

GOOFY

So where were you tonight at 10:45pm?

Donald comes back and drags Goofy out.

GOOFY

Gorsh, Donald. What’d I do?

CUT TO: Security camera
We see a security camera view of the scene finishing. We see Scrooge McDuck walk away.

ZOOM OUT TO: Dark room
The security camera feed is being viewed on in a dark room on a monitor. The screen goes off. The sound of a car revving is heard.

EXT. Tunnel – night
A slick black car is seen coming out of a tunnel and it drives down the highway into the city.

CUT TO: Side street
We see a shot of the two duck bank robbers looking through the bags of money. The car from the last shot drives up to the side street. Fog comes out of the car. The two robbers look forward as the fog comes towards them, when the fog clears. The duck robbers are tied up in front of a garbage can on the street. A black-caped person is seen looking at them.

ROBBER #1

Who are you?

The person opens his cloak to reveal Pluto in a Batman-type suit. He stands and barks (in turn jumping when he barks). The police car happens to drive past and Goofy sees the two robbers and points them out to Donald.

EXT. City hall – the next day
In front of city hall, a large celebration is being held in Pluto’s (still in the Batman attire) honor. Donald walks up to a podium.

DONALD

OK, I’d like to thank this hero in our city! We wouldn’t be able to decrease the crime rate without him! Kiss me, my fool!

Donald kisses Pluto, making him fall over.

CUT TO: Mickey Mouse’s bedroom
Pluto falls back onto his dog bed, revealing that this whole opening sequence was a dream. Pluto wakes up and looks around. Mickey is not in the bedroom.

INT. Mouse House – morning
Pluto walks down the main staircase into Mickey’s house and walks into the kitchen. Mickey is in the kitchen looking through the fridge. A calendar Pluto looks at next to the fridge indicates a date for the Mega Bowl. Mickey looks at Pluto.

MICKEY

Oh, good morning, Pluto! I hope you know what today is.

Pluto groans in confusion.

MICKEY

It’s the Mega Bowl, of course! Oh, boy! Donald and Goofy are going to be here soon to watch the game.

PAN TO: Mouse House front hallway

Mickey begins to walk across from the kitchen to the front area of the house to go get the paper.

MICKEY

I’ll tell you something, Pluto, the game today is going to be fantastic.

Mickey opens the front door, just as Minnie is at Mickey’s door. Minnie hits Mickey on the head thinking she’s knocking on the door, making him fall over. Minnie sees what she inadvertently did. Mickey has lumps on his head.

MINNIE

Oh, Mickey! Are you okay?

MICKEY

Duh-duha-a, a whole lotta lumps!

Mickey regains his composure.

MICKEY

So what brings you here so early?

MINNIE

Early, Mickey? It’s 11:15.

MICKEY

It’s Sunday, 11:15 is probably early for a lot of people.

MINNIE

Mickey, you promised you’d take me out to brunch today.

MICKEY

I did…?

Minnie nods her head “yes”.

MICKEY

Well, uh, we CAN have brunch today. But we won’t be able to go out to the bistro…

MINNIE

You’re not trying to stand me up for the Mega Bowl, are you?

MICKEY

No, no, of course not! Just come back here at 12:30. And you know what? How about you bring Figaro? Pluto could use the company.

MINNIE

Okay, I’ll accept your word, for now.

MICKEY

That’s just swell! See you then.

Mickey is just about to close the door but Minnie intervenes for a second.

MINNIE

Oh, and by the way, Mickey, when you say Pluto could use the company that reminds me, you’ve had Pluto for a long time, maybe he’s finally old enough for you to be able to take him out of the house every once and a while. He’d love to be around other dogs and I think he’ll need more friends than Figaro eventually.

Mickey’s eyes wander quickly and he looks back at Minnie.

MICKEY

I’ll see what happens.

Mickey closes the door as Minnie leaves.

FADE TO: Mickey’s backyard – day

Mickey is standing outside in his backyard with Pluto sometime later.

MICKEY

Pluto, it looks like your going to have stay outside today since I’m having so many people over. Are you okay with that?

Pluto barks enthusiastically.

MICKEY

Great! Minnie is bringing Figaro over today for you to play with as well. You won’t be alone.

Pluto suddenly changes moods and pretends to gag himself.

MICKEY

Oh, don’t be like that, you like Figaro. Or at least learn to like him. I have to go check if the food is done in the oven. See ya, Pluto!

Mickey runs back inside. Pluto paces around the backyard, feeling a bit lonely. He leans over onto a fence and peeks his eye through a hole in the fence and sees Fifi the Peke (whom in this narrative is a stray) walking along the sidewalk mere feet away from Pluto. Pluto is immediately excited at the thought of seeing another dog and tries to get through the fence with no avail. Fifi walks away from the fence confused.

Please give me feedback on this! I really want people's say into what happens to our main dog!

Now here go! Now we're now starting to get on journey!

Pluto groins miserably and begins to walk away from the fence. Kicking a dog bowl away, he looks up at a tree and attempts to climb it. When he gets to the top and climbs out onto an extremely bouncy limb, he attempts to look out to the street and sees Fifi crossing the street. He gets excited and attempts to get to the street, the limb breaks from the tree as Pluto is about to jump, he falls onto the ground still in the backyard. He depressingly walks into his dog house.

CUT TO: Mickey’s living room

Mickey is in the living room setting the TV to the station playing the Mega Bowl. The doorbell rings, Mickey walks over whistling and opens the door. Donald and Goofy are at the door.

DONALD

Mickey! Are you ready for the big game?

MICKEY

Of course, Donald it’s already on!

DONALD

Oh boy, oh boy!

Donald runs over to the couch and sits down eating down a bowl of chips.
GOOFY

Gorsh, Donald, you really seem to get into this.

Goofy sits down on the couch next to Donald bouncing Donald upward leaving the bowl of chips where Donald was. Goofy looks down at it.

GOOFY

Hm, don’t mind if I do.

Goofy begins to eat the chips as Donald comes crashing back down. Mickey is about sit on the couch as well when another knock comes at the door. Mickey opens the door and it is Minnie holding Figaro.

MICKEY

Oh, Minnie! I didn’t expect you so early!

MINNIE

12:30 on the nose, Mickey.

MICKEY

Oh, well, uh, come on inside.

MINNIE

What do I do with Figaro?

FIGARO

(meow)

MICKEY

I’ll take him outside.

Mickey takes Figaro and walks to the back door. Minnie looks into the living room and sees Donald and Goofy. Goofy waves to her and Minnie grumbles in frustration at Mickey.

CUT TO: Mickey’s back yard – day

Mickey opens the door holding Figaro and stands out on the porch.

MICKEY

Pluto! There’s a friend here to see you!

Pluto excitedly runs over the porch. Mickey drops Figaro onto the ground. Pluto fearfully runs into his doghouse and Figaro chases after him meowing.

MICKEY

Ha-ha, I knew they’d hit it off!

Mickey walks back inside. Pluto’s dog house begins to jump off the ground as Pluto and Figaro presumably fight inside. Finally Figaro is thrown out of the dog house and into the tree, Pluto walks out.

PLUTO

Why do you even have to do that every time you come over here?

FIGARO

Because you’re a dog! I do that to every dog I see!

PLUTO

Well, at least you’ve seen over dogs.

FIGARO

Oh, no, here you go again.

PLUTO

No, Figaro… it’s just, I’ve lived with Mickey in this house for years and I’ve never seen anything beyond this fence in the neighborhood.

FIGARO

And I should care because?

PLUTO

It’s just… I always feel so alone.

FIGARO

But you’ve got me.

PLUTO

You’re just some annoying kitten who follows me around so you can annoy me.

FIGARO

That’s what cats do, Pluto, we annoy because we can. We’re small, we can jump around! Our owners let us be! You gotta love it! Oh, sorry…

PLUTO

The only real way I get to see other dogs is through that hole in the fence. Just before, I’ll tell you, I saw the most beautiful dog I’ve ever seen.

FIGARO

Really? Any description you can give me?

PLUTO

Hmmm, probably Pekingese, really small…

FIGARO

Always gotta go the smaller dogs.

PLUTO

Hey, they’re cute. But anyway, I had a chance to see her today for the first time and a missed out because of my being trapped in this yard.

FIGARO

You know, there is something you can do to get out.

As Figaro says this line, he begins to jump onto the tree and onto the limb.

PLUTO

What?

Figaro jumps out of the yard into the street and knocks on the fence.

FIGARO

Start digging.

PLUTO

Why?

FIGARO

You’ll see.

Pluto begins to dig deep into the ground and gets far enough down that he can simply crawl under the fence (albeit very tightly) and gets out onto the street.

FIGARO

Pluto, welcome to the real world.

PLUTO

Whoa, am I dreaming this?

FIGARO

No, your not, this is as real as real can get.

PLUTO

Whoa, this is so surreal. We need to go find that girl dog! I might have a chance.

FIGARO

Okay, what direction did she go in?

PULTO

She went that way, come on!

Pluto begins to run in the direction Fifi went before, Figaro tries to catch up with near to no avail.

FIGARO

Can’t you slow down just a little? You’re too fast for me!

I like it, though I still feel alittle sad about Mickey being temporary speechless while reading this. Please continue.

By the way, you spell groan wrong or rather used the wrong word.

What do you mean? I think I've given Mickey the most dialogue thus far. EDIT: Oh! Never mind, I get why. Yeah, it is a bit weird writing Mickey's scenes for that reason.

By the way, you spell groan wrong or rather used the wrong word.
Whoops! Thanks for pointing that out! :o
