Just like the Jekyll & Hyde thread, obviously. I can't really decide here, though. It's either Satan's Waitin or Pluto's Judgement Day... Both are among the only cartoons that ever scared me as a kid (the others being Hyde and Go Tweet and Two Mousketeers).

"Satan's Waiting"-is awesome! I love the concept of the desending escalator representing hell and and heaven being represented as roped-off stairs. I used to have trouble understanding that as a kid.
I actually care very little for "Heavenly Puss." It kind of frightens me.

I want to say Columbia's "The Little Match Girl", although Hell isn't really shown in that cartoon... unless one considers the town that the girl is wondering around in as Hell.

I read some where that Matt Groening said Heavenly Puss was one of the creepiest cartoons he had ever seen.

Because I voted for that cartoon, I would say it's quite creepy in that sense of what kind of time Tom did have to get Jerry to sign that sheet in order for him to get admittance to Heaven at all, and being too late at that (perhaps or once you have sympathy for that cat than to say "tough luck!" as he gets his final deserts).
Also have a guilty pleasure for "Mice-Capades" as well, if only for the classic death at the end the Famous guys love doing best!

The only creepy part about Heavenly Puss for is the beginning. The time where Tom sneaks up on Jerry with a sword, and the stairs and piano scene. After that, it's very calm for me...well, except the three little kittens in a bag (it was sad, but HB, somehow pulled it off as something cute)
But I do like the sense of urgency from Tom. Which makes it my vote.
And I know one hell of a cartoon that is all our least favorite! "Devil's Feud Cake"!:ysam:

LMG is awesome, altough I'm not sure if it's really a "heaven" cartoon. but more like a "dream" cartoon... it's Art Davis' all-time best though, and my favourite Andersen story adaptation.
Heavenly Puss doesn't need any more comments. It's one of the greatest cartoons ever made IMHO.

I agree. Heavenly Puss was a great cartoon(except for the three kittens, which was sad.)
What about Draftee Daffy, where Daffy tries in a last effort to lose the guy from the draft board, only to be chased around H-E-double hockey sticks by him?
Or what about Bart Gets Hit by a Car, where the devil tells Bart he's not due there until the Yankees next win the pennant, which turned out to be 1996?

Well, if you're going to include cartoons for their endings, might as well include Back Alley Oproar as well.
