Last winter I posted a request seeking to identify four cartoon backgrounds I purchased. Three of them remain unidentified.

I'll reward $50 for each background identified below. That's fifty bucks to the first person who can tell me in which cartoon a background appeared. If two or all three appeared in the same cartoon, that's $100 or $150. I'll deposit the funds in your Paypal account or write you a check--your choice.

I MUST be able to verify the claim, i.e., to see the cartoon on youtube or receive a DVD/VHS copy of it first.

If you positively recognize one or more, send me a private message before posting publicly. One winner per background--you must be the first person to contact me with the correct information.

Thanks, kids!

What does the right headline in the middle image say? It looks something like "Felon Finds Rat In Sausage, Sale" but that last word is a total guess and I'm not sure if the first word is right. If it's related to the story of the cartoon, knowing what it actually says might help someone put it together. (A quick google search didn't find anything relevant with "rat in sausage", tho it did pull up ratbeef.com...)

Ted, that headline says "SOLON FINDS RAT IN SAUSAGE, AVER"

You can see larger images here:

Diner (http://www.ratso.net/background_diner_lg.jpg)
Opera (http://www.ratso.net/background_opera_lg.jpg)

I did a search for cartoons involving the opera and came up with these titles, none of which I've seen:

A Soapy Opera (1953/ Mighty Mouse)
The Talking Dog (1956/ Walter Lantz)
The Plumber of Seville (1957/ Walter Lantz)
The Case Of The Opera Singer (1960/ Courageous Cat)
Drum Up A Tenant (1963/ Modern Madcap)
Dodo at the Opera (1964/ Halas & Batchelor)
Opera Phantom (1965/ Roger Ramjet)
The Phantom Of The Opera House (1966; Beany & Cecil)
The Opera Caper (1967/ Famous Studios)
Wizard Of The Opera (1969/ Winky Dink)
Pheline Of The Opera (1973/ Mighty Mouse)

Thanks!
