Join me if you must, as I review and describe every cartoon in the first Golden Collection, as well as the bonus features/cartoons. I'm gonna try to get thru all 6 of them (eventually). Ready? LET'S GO!
VOLUME ONE
DISC ONE
# 1: Baseball Bugs
Is their any nobler and beloved sport than Baseball? Not the way Bugs Bunny plays it! The "one sided, knock-down,drag out" game is between the Gas House Gorillas, and the Tea Toatlers. The Tea Toatlers are being slaughtered by the bigger Gas House Gorillas, until Bugs boasts that he take the whole team by himself. His boast is called, and Bugs ends up playing all the positions. Bugs is able to get 4 Gorillas out by "perplexing" them with his slow ball. He manages to get a hit at the ball, and is about to be stopped by the biggest Gas House Gorilla, when he shows him a racy pin up picture that makes him loose interest in the game (who can blame him?) The biggest GHG tries to thwart him by disguising himself as the ump, but Bugs is able to trick him into saying "safe'. He then scores 5 points with his turn at bat. The final score has Bugs leading by 1 point 96 to 95, but the Gorillas aren't going down without a fight! The biggest Gorilla decides to loose the puny bat and use a tree trunk instead, and he clobbers the ball outta the arena, and Bugs has to catch it in order to win. He catches a bus up to the Empire State Building to catch the ball. He catches the ball and wins the game!

Review
This is a great Bugs Bunny cartoon. The jokes are funny, the pace is good, and the animation is well done. I'd just have to critisize the ending (with the statue of Liberty),as being a little weak. But overall it's well done.

#2: Rabbit Seasoning
Ah, the second part to the much loved "Hunting Triology". This cartoon starts off with many signs telling us that it is indeed Rabbit Season, being nailed up by Daffy Duck. He's trying to get Elmer to blast Bugs so he won't be hunted. Bugs (ever the trickster) confuses Daffy by telling Elmer to blast him, and then does it again. Bugs then asks Elmer what he would do to Daffy if he was a rabbit, and Elmer (guess what) blasts him! Bugs takes one for the team and dresses up as a sexy woman, who again tricks Elmer to blast Daffy (takes alot of abuse in this cartoon don't he?). Finally Bugs has Elmer shoot Daffy once more, and the cartoon ends. Go Violence!

Review
This cartoon is one of Chuck Jones' greats. Many of the gags in this cartoon are very funny because you realise how effectively Bugs is able to manipulate Daffy into getting shot. The timing is very good, and the animation is top notch! An excellent cartoon. But personally I prefer Rabbit Fire.

By the way, I could use some help Chase so if you are in in the mood for going DVD diving, you can definitley help.

Sorry guys I've been busy with school, but I'm glad to say I'm back with a vengence!
#3 Long Haired Hare
As we open, ol' Bugs is playing the banjo while Giovanni Jones is vainly trying to practice without distractions. He breaks Bugs' banjo, with Bugs calling him a "music hater". Unfazed, Bugs tries to play his harp and Giovanni tries to practice. Unfortunatley, Jones gets distracted and (again) goes after Bugs and his instrument. After which Bugs remakes that he may be a "rabbit hater". Bugs tries a third time to play his music, this time on a tuba, but Giovanni gets pissed and ties his ears to a tree. At this point Bugs has had all he can stand and he can't stands no more, and he remarks "Of course you realize that this means war!" We see that Jones is having a concert, and Bugs decides to ruin him for all the trouble he's given him. He makes the Hollywood Bowl vibrate as Giovanni is singing, which messes him up. Bugs Bunny then gives Giovanni a mouthfull of Liquid Alum (is that stuff actually real?) and it shrinks his head. Jones meets his "biggest fan" (who is Bugs in drag) and she asks Giovanni to give her his autograph...with a DYNAMITE PEN! Bugs Bunny then dresses up as famed music conducter Leopold Stowkowski and he makes Giovanni hold a very high note, which destroies the Bowl. He then makes Jones hold the high note again, so a boulder will fall on Giovanni Jones.

This is a enjoyable cartoon. The animation, plot and jokes are funny (especially the telegram gag). Plus, we learn the fundimental rule of Bugs Bunny cartoons. Don't piss off Bugs!

Had a Power Outage yesterday, so I couldn't update:( (also it was dark for a while, and I was scared.) But going back on topic, heres the next cartoon.
#4 High Diving Hare
This Bugs Bunny cartoon starts of quick, as Bugs is a sideshow hawker for a high diving routine by Yosemitie Sam's son (legitiment or not), Fearless Freep. Everything is going okay, but then we realise that Fearless Freep has been delayed by a storm! But Sam, who "Payed his 4 bits to see the high diving act" forces Bugs to do it himself. At the top of the board, Bugs tricks Sam into closing his eyes so he can put his bathing suit on, and then, in a dispaly of pure cartoon physics, he kicks the board so Sam will dive instead of him. Bugs (who is on the safe end) jumps onto the base and mimics his descent with sound effects to make Sam think he dived, and then Sam falls off into the real water. Unfazed, Sam makes Bugs do it again, but he just makes Sam fall in the water again (ain' t he a devil?). For the third time Bugs has to go up, and then tricks Sam again! (you really woulda think he'da got it by now). Finally, after a montage of Yosemite Sam hitting the water, we realise that Bugs is tied up on top of the high dive platform and Sam is cutting the board. The board falls (of course) and Bugs is saved.

God I love this cartoon. It's strictly a one gag cartoon, but the ways Bugs is able to make Sam fall into the water are always funny. Plus, the humor is further amplified by Sam' s stupidity and persistance in making Bugs Bunny plunge. Finally, this cartoon has alot of cartoon physics (the final gag, the first gag and the upside down gag) so if you need to write an essay, or book on cartoon physics, you should start here.
In short, it's really funny and a joy to watch.

#5 Bully for Bugs
A boffo ballad of Bunnies, bulls, bullfighters and bullets. Boy oh boy.
We open in a bullfighting ring, where the bull is a massive beast who intimidates the tiny bullfighter (who is carictureized as Chuck Jones). All of a sudden Bugs tunnels into the arena, after taking a wrong turn at Albequerke. While trying to make travel plans, Bugs is headbutted by the bull and says those Seven Magic Words; "Of course you realise this means war!" Bugs eager for revenge dresses up as a matador and makes the bull ram an anvil, and then makes him hit a wall where he gets stuck. After this, Bugs hits the bull with a boulder on a slingshot, but the bull comes back and hits Bugs Bunny into the wall. Then Bugs (wearing the appropriate sombrero) starts a portion of the cartoon I like to call the "Mexican Slap Dance" where Bugs just keeps slapping the bull before diving into his burrow and then squeezing the bull's nose. Bug's next plan involves shooting the Bull form behind the red cape, but it backfires when the bull swallows the gun. Then Bugs opens the doors so the bull is outside, giving him enough time to build a elaborate device, which makes the bull slip on grease, fly over a ramp, get sandpaper stuck to his chest, which then sets off dynamite!

This is another classic Jones cartoon, with good facial gags, physical gags and top notch animation. There's really not anythin bad I can say about this cartoon...
