This thread will focus on the most famous (and dastdardly) of Bug's villians; the big guys!

I have picked the best 4 of these characters (The Construction Worker, Crusher, The Bull, and Greusome Gorillia), but I want you to vote on which one is the best!

Let's begin.

1. The Construction Worker
http://img509.imageshack.us/img509/9610/hercules.jpg

BIO:Known only as Hercules, this mean construction worker wanted to kick Bugs off his construction site. The two engaged in a war with bricks, beams, bolts and trailers until Bugs reigned supreme.

MEMORABLE LINES: " I'm feeling mighty low..."
" I'll tuck you into your little bed!"

2. DA CRUSHA!
http://img219.imageshack.us/img219/5830/dacrusher.jpg[/URL]

BIO: After Ravishing Ronald gets beaten up, his trusty mascot Bugs Bunny steps in to fight Crusher for the World Heavyweight champeeonship. After a bit of abuse, Bugs is able to convince Crusher that he had ripped his pants, and them stabs him in the butt. After this ol' Crusher gets smashed into a safe and then Bugs finally "saftey" pins him to the ground to win.

MEMORABLE LINES: "Grrrrrrarr.. rarr"
" Duh.. I'm just passing by.. just bassing by"

3. Greusome Gorilla
http://img217.imageshack.us/img217/8789/greusomeg2.jpg (http://img219.imageshack.us/img219/5830/dacrusher.jpg)

BIO: After accidently landing in the jungle, Bugs is adopted by a mother gorilla.Greusome is the unhappy father to Bugs Bunny, and would like to get rid of him. After a few unsucessful attempts to kill Bugs during "playtime", Bugs is able to tire him out by having Greusome beat on him.

MEMORABLE LINES: "Grrrrrrrr"
" Kids.Bbrbbrbrrbrb"

4. THE BULL
http://img258.imageshack.us/img258/5019/bulle.jpg

BIO: After Bugs forgets to take that left turn at Alberqurqe, he ends up in a bull fight with this guy. Bugs seems to be winning when he trys to shoot the bull with a gun, but his plan backfires. However, our favourite Bunny is able to win again!

I voted for the crusher.

I had a hard time choosing between the Construction Worker and Crusher but decided on the CW.

I always liked the bull-I always thought he was the best looking cartoon bull I ever saw-most were downright goofy looking-but this bull was absolutey awesome-every bit of him screamed "don't mess with me!"

Given the above choices, the bull wins in my book. All are good choices though...and that picture of "Hercules" made me think of something. One, who smokes a cigar while working, and two, who smokes a cigar and leaves the paper band on it?!

All cartoon characters smoke cigars with the paper band still attached. That's so the audience will know that it's a cigar!

I like all the choices presented here, and so I'm paralyzed with indecision.

Tough choice, but I had to go with The Crusher overall.

"Just passing by. Duuuhhhhhhhhh." :D

What, no Gossamer?

Drat. I knew I forgot someone! Ol' Rudolph was my backup choice.

Would Giovanni Jones also count?

Yes he would. But I figured four was enough, also I didn't add him because he doesn't directly challenge Bugs, he just stops him from playing music.

And don't forget Hercules II in "No Parking Hare".

I went for the Crusher.

I always loved watching wrestling with my brothers as a kid and Baron Von Raschke was my favorite. Watch out for THE CLAW! Crusher reminds me of the Baron. Must be the baldness.

And don't forget Hercules II in "No Parking Hare".

Or, for that matter Crusher I, aka The Champion, aka Battling McGook in "Rabbit Punch"--funny how he hasn't really been directly acknowledged in this thread, given how some prefer "Rabbit Punch" to "Bunny Hugged". (I guess it's the lack of "just passing by" soundbites. But hey, he's the object of the first version of the "Bully For Bugs" slingshot gag; you can never go wrong with that.)

Another "big guy" who might merit acknowledgment, even if he's a very downplayed kind of "heavy": the "Barbary Coast Bunny" rendition of Nasty Canasta.

I personally like this verson of Canasta too, but he's mainly a Daffy villan.

All cartoon characters that smoke, that is!

But anyways, I voted for the Crusher

Another "heavy" that's been overlooked: Sir Pantsalot in "Knights Must Fall"...

All four are funny and about as dumb as mud.

Hercules *original*- He wins because of his great balencing act.

The Crusher- Just his one-liner, "Well, I just thought I would stop and say hello..." gets me in bandages!

The Bull- Is probably my least favorite but he still has great reactions and expressions.

Gruesome Gorilla- His reaction to seeing Bugs the first time cracks me up, his "explaining" to his wife "Oh, no! Bu-but! EEe! Oh, no! Uhh! Ee! WahahahahaHHHAAAAaaaa.....", infact all three of his cartoons are classics! So I pick him!

Also a good choice to consider....Nero!

Toughest poll...EVER.

I'll vote for Gruesome Gorilla, just barely, over the Construction Worker.

The bull is in one of my top 5 favorite cartoons of all time. And compared to the other three, he almost won.

Ah, yes! Nero the Lion! When he's trying to figure out what's in the hole via his own visualizations, it busts me up every time. Dog? "No-no-no-no-". Monkey? "No-no-no-no-". Skunk? "NOOOO-NOOOO!" Rabbit? "Yeah-yeah-yeah-yeah!" Also his submission to Bugs' "C'mon, laugh it up!" routine. Marvelous gutteral performance by Mel Blanc.

Bruno the performing Bear is another worthy adversary of large size. "Nobody steals the spotlight from Bruno- especially a steenkeeng little rabbeet! Ptui!"

Ha ha ha! Burno's great too...especially the voice. I enjoy hearing the lines "Well, whadda jou know about that..." and "I dunno how jou do thes, But, if jou can do it, Burno can do it batter!!" The gags are great too...especially the high diving act.

"The Crusher" gets my vote. The whole "Just passing by..." routine is hilarious, plus the way he says "whhhaaaaaaatttttttttt?!?!?!?!?!" always cracks me up. :D

"The Construction Worker" comes a close second. I always loved his line: "I'm feelin' mighty low!".

IMO John T. Smith is quite an under-appreciated voice artist. ;)

And of course: "Now who you suppose put that AN-vil up THERE?"

Bruno really shouldn't have been a one-shot--Bugs just *needed* a Cold War-style adversary, at least with a few goes at it a la Taz, Marvin, etc...

Also submitted for your consideration:

The Giant, in Jack-Wabbit and the Beanstalk

Giant Elmer, in Beanstalk Bunny

Smidgen, in Lumber Jack-Rabbit

Hassan, in Ali Baba Bunny

Hugo, in The Abominable Snow Rabbit

Revisiting this thread, you know who else was left out? The sergeant in Forward March Hare! (Though maybe it's because he was out-heavied and ultimately deflated by the higher-in-rank, more than by Bugs per se--but, still.)
