Well I finally managed to show my creations: some of the 1967-1969 WB cartoons, but the thread was closed due to the whole April Fools thing. But now that this has strayed away from that whole Daffy/Speedy joke and has gone on a more interesting manner, I want to continue it here, since it turns out quite a few members like my "enhanced" toons, and not all of them are Daffy/Speedy shorts I am happy to say (I did a few Cool Cats, and some one-shots too).
I took down the Gladiator one, and replaced it with my updated version of "Bunny and Claude" (I'm SURE this should please Glowworm!)

God, I hate this short...
The theme song's catchy, though. :)

You know, I thought that Bunny & Claude had a great Theme Song, and pretty good writing, but the animation/music/sound design was rather average. I always felt that this short needed "something" to make it better, and you made an already good cartoon great with those sound effects! Although, "some" members *coughgeezil* hate this short, and I'm not sure why. Post some more!

I like that, actually. Not near as annoying as what some of the PD companies like "Cartoon Crazies" did to the likes of Popeye. The machine-gun is a little over-the-top in some scenes, but I like how you added it to the opening titles. I also liked the trash can noises.
I think "Bunny and Claude" and its sequel, "The Great Carrot Train Robbery", are among the better Hendricks cartoons. I never understood why so many people hate them. They're better than most of Hanna-Barbera's late sixties material, and certainly no more or less derivative. The music is some of the best Bill Lava ever did, and both shorts have appealing stories (The second, though, was better, as the first grinds to a halt with the hideout bit.)
I don't think the characters or concept could have sustained more than two cartoons without going stale, though. Much like McKimson's other TV and film parodies over the years ("Honey Mousers", "Mouse that Jack Built") it does all that can be done in one or two shorts.
I do kind of like Thad's old idea though...a third short that ends like the real Bonnie and Clyde! Now THERE'S one for your machine-gun sound effects, Wiley!

I agree about the Bunny and Claude shorts, and that Bill Lava's music was great. I think the Sheriff seems kinda like a human version of Foghorn Leghorn (I wonder if Mel Blanc hurt his throat voicing that Sheriff?)

I'm glad somebody else said that. I wonder why people hate this short.

I apologize for the thread bump, but here are a couple of other "revamped" Bill Hendricks/Alex Lovy Looney Tune shorts I did.
http://www.freewebs.com/wilee2005/Documents/Updated%20Speedy%20Ghost%20to%20Town.wmv.flv
"Speedy Ghost to Town" is reuploaded again (this is an FLV file, you may need VLC Media Player or something to watch it)
http://www.freewebs.com/wilee2005/Documents/What%27s%20New,%20Fiesta%20Fiasco.wmv
And here's a brand new one I made just last night! It's of "Fiesta Fiasco" (complete with my attempts to change it back from PAL to NTSC, you can notice by the "correct" audio pitch). I think this was one of my most complex sound remixes. Nearly EVERY scene has new sound effects in them. Some of them are pretty noticeable (like the thunder/rain sounds and when the tornado blows on Daffy), but some you might not even notice (such as footsteps when they are walking). I apologize for the somewhat large file size; this is because I wanted to maintain the high quality audio while keeping the file size at a reasonable amount. I think I am satisfied with my results.

You sure know how to make bad cartoons sound good! You should try to do one for Norman Normal someday (if only to impress me).

Aw, thanks! But I might not do one of "Norman Normal," though. The sound effects are already good enough (it didn't need to do anything cartoony, plus since the soundtrack was done on the east coast of USA, the only recognizable sound effects I heard were Warner Bros.' door sounds they used in the classic pre-1964 shorts.)
One thing that bothered me about the Bill Hendricks shorts was how limited their sound effects library was! I think they might've only had 40-50 effects to use, while back in the 1940s and 1950s, Warner Bros. Animation had hundreds of sound FX, and Hanna-Barbera also had hundreds of sound effects during the late 1960s too (well into the early 1990s). So you'd hear improper sounds for certain things: the old H-B "bongo feet" sound for Bunny nailing a barrel shut in fast speed or Second Banana's boxing gloves, painting something makes a "Poof!" or "swishaswishaswish" noise, etc. So here with my "refined audio" variants, the sound effects sound more full. (Though I mostly got the idea from "What's New Scooby-Doo," which the same studio produced decades later yet still reminds me of the Warner/7 Arts cartoons)

I liked the Bunny and Claude one, as the updated sound effects really amped it up, but the other two didn't have as many moments needing sound effects improvements.
I also agree that Bunny and Claude was one of the few high points of the Seven Arts era. The funky soundtrack helps, of course.

The reason so many people hate them is because they came from Termite Terrace and are just a sad reminder of how far the studio had fallen.
I've been rewatching all those Chuck Jones Tom and Jerry's - and altho everyone is pretty rough on them in another thread, I'm sure we'd all dig them way, way more if the cartoons were identical but instead featured two different characters, original nobody characters, that maybe Jones would've conceived of himself.
I'm sure some of us would even cut Cool Cat some slack if he had been churned out by Total Television or something.
Anyway, I like em all, I'd rather watch almost any cartoons from the sixties than most cartoons of the past 30 years.
