[APRIL FOOLS] Hit Or Miss Of The Month: The Garbageman In Daffy's Diner

That's right, this month's "Hit or Miss" thread will be for the garbageman in Daffy's Diner. For those who don't remember, he appears after Daffy is startled by Speedy and falls into a trashcan. He picks up Daffy's trash can to empty it into his truck, and Daffy responds with "Put me down, you cad!" The garbageman then responds with, "Holy Frijoles, the garbage, she talk. ::Walking away:: I think I go home to Guadalajara. Where the garbage, she no talk."

I vote HIT!!! Forget Bugs Bunny, Mickey Mouse, Felix The Cat, or even Daffy Duck. HE is the greatest cartoon character ever created!!!

Another HIT. That line Marty mentioned was funny. I just wish he had been in more cartoons.

Well, he was the only worthwhile character in that whole cartoon; Daffy & Speedy were just their usual "Daffy & Speedy" selves and El Supremo was just an abrasive, obnoxious, unlikeable bastard with a voice so irritating and grating that I actually felt like punching him in the face several times (how Mel Blanc, the greatest voice actor of all time, could also do voices that would actually grate on one's nerves, especially later in his career is completely beyond me) so, yeah, by complete default, the garbageman is totally a hit.

I doubt he could support a whole series by himself but, yeah, in terms of that one cartoon, he IS a hit. And, admittedly, that one line he has ("I theenk I go back to Guadalajara where the garbage... eet no talk.") IS kinda funny.

Actually, I thought El Supremo was pretty funny. He and the garbageman probably sustained that particular cartoon better than Daffy and Speedy (its stars) did.

I haven't seen this cartoon in years-but once you mentioned his line-I remember it. Definately a hit-simply because it's hillarious!
