In honor of one of the most popular topics (http://forums.goldenagecartoons.com/showthread.php?t=11154&highlight=Daffy+Speedy) here on the GAC Forums, I am pleased to welcome you to the all-new Daffy and Speedy Trading Post. Myself and the other mods have heard your pleas for more discussion of that "loco duck" and the fastest mouse in Mexico! We realize now just how much more we should be talking about (and praising!) one of the most famous comedy teams in cartoon history. Feel free to join in! Andale! Andale! :daffy: :speedy:

All Right. We ARE celebrating April Fools this year.

Call me a party pooper, but I'm getting sick of having this topic poping up at least once every day.

After April Fools Day, can we please try to do a week where we can avoid this topic? I think it can be done.

All Right. We ARE celebrating April Fools this year.

April Fools? Just an unfortunate coincendence. We picked this month since so many of the finest :speedy: were released in the month of April: "Mexican Cat Dance" (April 20), "Nuts and Volts" (April 15), "Assault and Peppered" (April 24), "A-Haunting We Will Go" (April 16), and "The Quacker Tracker" (April 29). Not to mention Daffy's first cartoon was released on April 17, 1937.

After all, we figured that since it seems to be the most popular topic around here these days, why fight it? Give the people what they want, I say!:daffy: :speedy:

Oh, but I think the mods are planning to keep the board this way. I actually like the Daffy/Speedy cartoons, but was a little ashamed to admit it. Now, I can freely and honestly express my opinions on the series without being heckled.

I like it! Daffy and Speedy are the bomb. WAY better than the boring Looney Tunes that came in the 30s, 40s, and the 50s. Why didn't they think of this sooner?

Finally, I have a website worth browsing while wearing my Daffy-Speedy pajamas.

P.S.: The Astro-Duck: Most. Underrated cartoon. EVER.

Also, those cartoons will be double as hillarious when taking marijuana nor alcoholic beverages. :D :daffy::speedy:

Oh, IM THE FIRST ONE TO SAY THAT "SEE YA LATER GLADIATOR" IS THE BEST OVERRATED CARTOON EVAR!!!!

(Geez...I just can't help but to say it. Otherwise, I'll be goshdarn guilty about it on the next day. Then again, I know I hate that cartoon as much as all the rest of those D@S cartoons but what the heck. ;))

I presume, then, that this is just an elaborate April Fool's Day hoax and that the familiar "Termite Terrace Trading Post" will be restored in all it's glory by tomorrow?

Yeah, those "classic" 30s, 40s and 50s Warner Bros. cartoons have been played to death -- give it a rest. I know what the characters are going to say and do before they say or do it. The Daffy/Speedy shorts were a courageous effort to do something new and original, and it's high time they are recognized for the true classics they really are!

Too bad when NBC ordered that new Daffy-Speedy cartoon in 1980, they didn't see fit to include Gary Coleman in it. That would have made this page perfect...

You know, you can have too much Daffy and you can have too much Speedy, but there is no such thing as too much Daffy & Speedy!

Just sayin'

This is the happiest april fools day ever!

I hope that Warner Home Video releases a complete collection of Daffy and Speedy, even including A Haunting We Will Go and The Chocolate Chase, even though both were on the Golden Collections.

Those things go for high prices on eBay, so I am wondering, will somebody please let me borrow a pair of the pajamas for a week?

To mark this very special occasion, I'm playing a DVD of all the Speedy/Daffy cartoons in the background, while I moderate this extra-special fiesta of a forum with an overstuffed taco in one hand (with extra chillies, of course). ;):daffy::speedy:

Hehe, we sure love to hate those Speedy vs. Daffy cartoons, don't we? Especiallly "See Ya Later Gladiator!" I think I'll put it on right now...

*watches it*
GAAAAAAACK! The blandness! THE BLANDESS! :shame:
*goes bats from the corny Bill Lava music!*

BTW, that's a hilarious avatar you have, Jon. What were the Six Flags people THINKING, teaming up the Speedy and Daffy costumed characters? Did they only watch the post-1964 WB cartoons as reference or something?
