Just as Bo Diddley used the "shave & a haircut" beat, I've long referred to the classic Tom Tom Club "Genius Of Love" riff in terms of "Ajax,The Foaming Cleanser".

For that matter, the "Genius Of Love" video isn't entirely out of place on GAC...

And it appears to have been borrowed after a fashion, a few years later, for "Rip Van Winkle," a certified doo wop classic by The Devotions. ...and as I think of it, it seems a logical furthering of what Culhane was aiming for at Paramount (the whole My Daddy The Astronaut trip). Though the overall tenor reminds me more of Deitch/Weiss-era Terrytoons--maybe because the Tom Tom Club's musical primitivism has more in common with Phil Scheib than Winston Sharples...

...in which case, maybe "James Hound!" could be substituted for the "James Brown!"
