It doesn't appear to be so much a "remake", rather a live-action film that happens to have/use the same title. Is this really worth getting worked up over?

Unless Cage's co-stars are a mouse and some dancing brooms, of course.

I hate these kind of movies.

I got scared for a second-now I'm feeling better. I thought for a second that Mickey Mouse would be getting the 3-D treatment or something. Don't get Cage's getup though-he doesn't look like a sorcerer-more like Vanhelsing.:D

Here's the list of all the "Golden Age" films that Disney did.
Of them, only a few have been remade in live action. I will highlight those that have.
However, I only count those that have been actually remade, baised on the Disney film. (Direct to DVD doesn't count)

Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs (1937) • Pinocchio (1940) •
Fantasia (1940) • Dumbo (1941) • Bambi (1942) • Saludos Amigos (1942) • The Three Caballeros (1944) • Make Mine Music (1946) • Fun and Fancy Free (1947) • Melody Time (1948) • The Adventures of Ichabod and Mr. Toad(1949) • Cinderella (1950) • Alice in Wonderland (1951) • Peter Pan (1953) • Lady and the Tramp (1955) • Sleeping Beauty (1959) • One Hundred and One Dalmatians (1961) • The Sword in the Stone (1963) • The Jungle Book (1967) • The Aristocats (1970) • Robin Hood (1973) • The Many Adventures of Winnie the Pooh (1977) • The Rescuers (1977) • The Fox and the Hound (1981) • The Black Cauldron (1985) • The Great Mouse Detective (1986) • Oliver & Company (1988) • The Little Mermaid (1989) • The Rescuers Down Under (1990) • Beauty and the Beast (1991) • Aladdin (1992) • The Lion King (1994) • Pocahontas (1995) • The Hunchback of Notre Dame (1996) • Hercules (1997) • Mulan (1998) • Tarzan (1999)

Fantasia and 101 Dalmations are pink and underlined, because they been remade twice.
As we can see, there are still plently of films that disney has made thst haven't been remade yet.

Does that just include Disney remakes? Because Cinderella and Alice in Wonderland have been remade umpteen times. Then there are the Broadway productions of Lion King and Beauty and the Beast, Disney on Ice etc.

Of course what we really need is "Make Mine Music 3-D" starring Miley Cyrus and the Jonas Brothers.

Just live actions. Muscials don't count.

Mickey Already has, if you've seen Mickey Mouse Clubhouse.

I'm aware of that-but I mean an actual live action Sorceror's Aprentice complete with a 3-d Mickey.

Be glad they don't re-re-remake Fantasia again.

Wait, when were there Peter Pan and Little Mermaid remakes?

Wait, when were there Peter Pan and Little Mermaid remakes?

There were two Mermaid sequels that went straight to video/DVD and there was a theatrical Peter Pan sequel.

A.Flea explicitly stated that he didn't count direct-to-DVD-movies. He also said these were live action remakes

and there was a theatrical Peter Pan sequel.

Does that really count? There is a thetrical Peter Pan movie, though, but that wasn't made by Disney, and it was based on J.M. Barrie's original story, rather than Disney's movie.

What do you mean Fantasia has been remade twice? I didn't know there were any live action remakes of Fantasia at all. And what movie is supposed to be the remake of The Little Mermaid? Splash?

As we can see, there are still plently of films that disney has made thst haven't been remade yet, and besides, their just remaking a short clip in a big movie!

If you think this movie counts as a remake of the Sorcerer's apprentice segment form Fantasia, then surely every adaption of Oliver must count as a "remake" of Oliver and Company, and Sleepy Hollow should count as a remake of Ichabod's part of Adventures of Ichabod and Mr. Toad. There are plenty of movies about King Arthur that could count as a remake of the Sword in the Stone. And let's not forget all the Robin Hood and Tarzan movies that have been made over the years.

Well, the station is only six blocks from the old Fleischer studio, so I guess that's sort of a connection to animation.

Disney made a live action version of the The Jungle Book in 1994: http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0110213/
