There were two versions of Fast and Furry-ous as I know of: the release version (# 1092), and the scrapped "alternate designs" version (# 1091).

Can anyone give me more info about the scrapped version?

PF, I guess you got the numbers from Dave Mackay's site.

I'm a little confused, as I'm looking at Boxoffice magazine dated Oct. 15, 1949. It has the production number as 5713 (they say "production number" and not "release number").

What would the reason be for the difference in production numbers?

Merrie Melodies were all 57XX (there is no differentiation between them and Looney Toons in the exhibitors' magazine). Blue Ribbons were given 53XX production numbers, Bugs Bunny Specials got 57XX, Featurettes (two reels) were 51XX, Joe McDoakes shorts were 54XX, Sports News Review (one reel) was 56XX, Sports Parade (one-reel) was 55XX, Technicolor Adventures (one reel) were 58XX, Techicolor Specials (two reels) were 50XX (they appear to be travelogues). No production numbers are listed for the Warner-Pathé News.

P.S., with some surprise, I note in the same edition's rundown of shorts that Meet King Joe got an MGM theatrical release on July 9, 1949 (the same day House of Tomorrow was released). I didn't realise any of the Sutherland movies got a theatrical release.

Was there an alternate version of Long-Haired Hare? The stage in that cartoon's publicity drawing is totally different from the stage in the actual cartoon (presumably the Hollywood Bowl).
