Doing a random web surf for "Looney Tunes" on FlickR to see if I could come across something interesting, I happened across some pics that looked like an ice show with the Looney Tunes in it (not the real ones, but costumed characters that look like second-rate imitations of the costumes they use at the Six Flags/Warner Bros. Movie World theme parks). I did some Googling and I came across results for "Bugs Bunny On Ice." Click this link if you dare...

(WARNING: It's in Italian!)

But since I'm nice, here's a "loose" translation by Google:

So apparently, this show is a musical adaptation of "Around the World in 80 Days" with the Looney Tunes characters. Sounds kinda like "Tweety's High-Flying Adventure," but with Bugs Bunny as the main character, not Tweety. It is produced by Holiday on Ice, the same company that brought us those ice-skating Muppet segments from the mid-1970s "Sesame Street" episodes. A worthy note is the inclusion of Speedy Gonzales, and it looks like he has extensive dialogue too. I have to admit, at least that's something. And this is only in Europe and Latin America, too. Let's hope it doesn't make it here to North America...

Someone at Misce-Looney-Ous should make a blog post about this, this... this lame excuse for a Looney Tunes production!

My comments? "Reptar on Ice" was a lot better than this!

Heck, "Circus on Ice" (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=41_GUGQqHVw) looks better than this.

What's the problem? Many other ice shows are "looney tunes" (generically speaking). ;)

Ah, I think it's kind of cute. Heck, it's nice to see that the Looney Tunes are popular enough with the kiddies in Italy to get their own ice show. If I was a five-year-old Looney Tunes fan, I am sure I'd want to see this. :tweety:

I am impressed that somebody did their homework on those character profile pages (crediting Jones, McKimson, Freleng, etc with the correct character's creation). The original artwork is decent, too.

It looks like they call the Roadrunner "Beep Beep". That's cute.

What makes this show so awful? I personally wouldn't want to see it but it looks just fine for little kids. So far, I don't see anything wrong with it. There was even a bit in the video where Bugs is running around with a stick of dynamite.

That's how he's called in the comics where he talks.

Hey, if there can be Disney on Ice, why not Looney Tunes on Ice?

The Ice Show was created in 2007 in Italy.
Gladly they inclued Speedy Gonzales but still, it's aimed for a kids audience, i mean little kids.

That's how he's called in the comics where he talks.Yes—and as a direct result, the Road Runner remains Beep Beep in several different European countries.
Not in Denmark, though, where he's "Hjulben" ("wheel-legs," referring to how his legs spin when he runs). In the old days, he was also identified as being an ostrich rather than a roadrunner; I'm not sure what the status is today.

At this stage of the game, I think ANY publicity for the Looney Tunes would be useful.

Now go look up what they call Tweety – it's even funnier!

BTW I'm only going to refer to Road Runner as "Wheel Legs" from now on since that's got to me the best name ever! In fact I might even give my first-born child that name!

LOL! And what about "Willy the Coyote?" :coyote:

It reminds me of how in the French version of "Beauty and the Beast," they renamed Cogsworth as "Big Ben."

You do realize only celebrities are allowed to give their children crappy names?

I remeber ice show in the USA during the 80's with the Looney Tunes and DC characters. I forgot what it was called.
