The animation of Sylvester in this short is quite different. In some scenes he appears for a few shots as almost his "Doggone Cats"'self.
More in general there's some 40s energy put on the animation of Sylvester trough all the short.
Reason? The return of any animator?

Well, judging by the production release numbers, (http://www.davemackey.com/animation/wb/1955.html) this appears to be the first cartoon made after the re-opening of the studio following J.L.'s 3-D infatuation. If that's the case, it would also be the first cartoon in a while for Freleng by Gerry Chiniquy, who gets animation credit along with Art Davis and the newly-promoted Ted Bonnicksen. That probably goes a long way towards explaining any differences in Sylvester's look.

Oddly, it still uses the 1945-1955 Merrie Melodies theme.

They probably meant to release this one before debuting the new opening theme, but messed up.
