Just picked up an Alpha dvd recently (6 ten minute episodes) of a show I watched as a kid called "Mack and Myer For Hire" starring Mickey Deems and Joey Faye. Much in the burlesque/vaudeville tradition of Laurel and Hardy, Abbott and Costello, etc. Hilarious! After reading an interview (online) with Mickey Deems...I can only hope that more of these will see the (dvd) light of day...as they made about 202 or so.:)

Man, that is reaching back! Frankly, I never enjoyed these. They seemed tired and old hat to me when they were new. They were no substitute for cartoons. For me, THE NEW THREE STOOGES was more entertaining for what that was. It was certainly no I'm DICKENS, HE'S FENSTER!

Agreed...but I decided to order to the dvd, having not seen them at all in eons. Glad I did!;)
Also, just picked up two used Criterion dvds of W.C. Fields...

...Not taking anything away from cartoons, mind you.:)

Don't sweat it. I'm sure that if a few of these films made it to DVD, chances are that more will follow.
