That was a Christmas Special on CBS. Disney did not enter regular television entries until 1954 with the DISNEYLAND series on ABC. That was followed by THE MICKY MOUSE CLUB in 1955, and ZORRO in 1957, all on ABC. The DISNEYLAND program was developed as an entertainment promotional program for the theme park that was scheduled to open. Since ABC/Paramount Theaters was an investment partner in Disneyland Amusements, Inc. The Disney Studios was called upon to develop these shows for the struggling network. The prestige of the Disney name and the studio's production values attracted viewers and helped build up the network's advertising revenue. NBC initiated color broadcasts in 1958, and once Disney had earned the necessary capital, it bought out ABC's interest and moved over to NBC in 1961 where they capitalized on color broadcasts centered around the concept of color, hence, the title, WALT DISNEY'S WONDERFUL WORLD OF COLOR.

Thanks for sharing this, Tim. It's awesome! The girl who played Alice looks and talks just like her. It looks strange seeing the dwarfs and Uncle Remus in black and white. Great find!

The "Alice" was Kathryn Beaumont, who was the voice of ALICE and also WENDY in PETER PAN.

That's right, Ray, and she's been doing the voice of Alice ever since. Both of the world's most famous Alices, Virginia Davis and Kathryn Beaumont are still alive and sought out due to their portrayals of Alice. I wonder who the next major Alice will be?

Next? That's a tough one since there are no "little girls" like that any more. They all want to be Hannah Montanah.
