Last night I caught a new commercial with :lepew: for AT&T cellphones for Valentine's Day. It begins with Penelope in her apartment on a sofa painting a stripe down her own back while eagerly awaiting the next text messages from Pepe (who narrates the commercial and sends the cat text messages in his mock-French speaking style). It is always odd to see Pepe/Penelope portrayed as a "couple".

I am YouTube-less at the moment, so I have no idea if it's on there yet.

I saw it too. I really think the animation in it was excellent. Couldn't find it on the internet.

Good to see the Looney Tunes are still marketable! Seems odd to portray Pepe and Penelope as a couple, but hey, it's better than some other Looney Tunes ads I've seen (the car commercial where Speedy Gonzales moons a bunch of cats comes to mind).

How did Pepe's voice sound in the commercial? Hopefully it wasn't Maurice LaMarche or Bruce Lanoil doing the voice.

Why do Pepe's current voice actors insist on over-exaggerating the french accent? Greg Burson's the only actor to get it right.

My guess is Penelope couldn't find love elsewhere, so she figured, screw it, this skunk loves me. I'll take that.

I think Penelope has a cold.

I think Penelope knows she can't smell him over the phone. (And it's been established that she and other Pepe victims would at times like him back were it not for his odor...)
Her heart's beating to a conga rhythm!

Phone sex lives, I guess.

P.S. Thanks for the link, Brandon!

It's funny that Pepe has a portrait of himself on the wall.

good commreical, hope we see more of these good LT ads.

Which commerical did Speedy moon? ( I dont remember this one is it on YT? )

btw, anyone remember the old Road Runner commericals done i saw one
on YT a few months ago, the animation there was also well done
(too bad Dodge can't bring back the Runner that be a car they could
sell )

Then We had Taz doing a Chevrolet Monte Carlo ad, and I think Bugs to
did a American Express ad (Noel Blanc ) around the late 80s

and I think Even Pontiac had a commerical with a LT character but can't remember that ad too much

I know Disney had ads done with the Chevrolet Lumina Euro using Fantasa Characters, and may also used Roger Rabbit to.

The Pepe commercial has some nice animation for sure. I wonder why it's hard to find a proper voice for Pepe? Has Joe Alasky ever tried it? In my opinion, Joe has a very similar voice-tone to Mel Blanc.

Joe Alaskey has voiced Pepe in some video games, and voiced him in Bah Humduck.

Alaskey doesn't sound too bad as Pepe, but he makes the same mistake most other current actors do, and he overdoes the french accent. Like I said before, the only actor that ever been able to really recreate Pepe's voice was Greg Burson.

Actually, now that I've listened closely to the commercial, I think that is Joe Alasky....?

The voice was inconsistent to my ears, not quite like Mel Blanc's characterization.
