Greetings Group,
In the past 6 months or so, I've managed to upgrade my over the air/ antenna TV to the "digital" age. Buying a Panasonic VHS/DVD recorder *with* a DIGITAL TUNER.
Last November, a new channel was added to the (over the air) channels I received, that being, "THIS TV" a new channel made up from the MGM/UA library.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/This_TV
"This TV's program schedule relies on the extensive library of films (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer#MGM.27s_library_today) and TV programming (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/MGM_Television) currently owned by MGM (notably excluding the pre-1986 MGM film/TV library (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ted_Turner#MGM.2FUA), whose rights are currently held by Turner Entertainment (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Turner_Entertainment) and Time Warner (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Time_Warner))."
They show a lot of old TV shows like MR. ED, THE OUTER LIMITS and THE PATTY DUKE SHOW. Along with movies from MGM/UA.
On certain occasions, if a movie runs short, they fill up the time with CARTOONS from UA/Depatie Freleng.
I've seen PINK PANTHER and ANT AND THE AARDVARK toons shown. With full titles.
Today, for the first time I can note, they filled a full half hour BEFORE a movie with PINK PANTHER cartoons. Of a later vintage, but with full titles.
There's also another, similar new channel RETRO TV, (Like early NIK AT NIGHT) with a great package of UNIVERSAL TV shows from the 50s to the 80s. (McHALES NAVY, BACHELOR FATHER, LEAVE IT TO BEAVER, HITCHCOCK, KRAFT SUSPENSE, RUN FOR YOUR LIFE, etc.) but no cartoons, YET.

Maybe the Universal/Woody Woodpecker library will show up. (?)
