Yesterday, I got a letter from Columbia House re the Woody Woodpecker DVD series. It seems as though it's being discontinued...?

DO you think this has to do with Universal's plan to release the cartoons on DVD?:woody: :chilly: :andy:

I got the same letter..... Perhaps it does mean something good, but I'm not getting my hopes up. Universal has no idea what they're doing whatsoever.

Wha... discontinued after what volume?? As of when???

What volume are you guys at in the States right now?

I really enjoyed collecting these discs, despite the edited television prints, and even if Universal does decide to offer remastered comprehensive sets of their Lantz cartoons, I'll still hang onto my DVD's just for the Walter Lantz & Woody newsreels and show openings, etc. I've accepted the collection for what it is despite it's flaws and I've been quite happy with it so far. I'll be really dissapointed if Columbia just abandons the series two thirds of the way through...

I haven't even gotten around to picking up any of the second series volumes past 10. I'm really hoping to track these down... can any of you guys help me out?

:(

Bart, Cabe624, and I have gotten up to Vol. 15 ... I can't speak for the others, but I received that volume in mid-September and haven't received anything since.

Thanks Thad, and is this presumably where it ends?

If so, that's 5 discs I need to track down...

Do you know if CH works like Time-Life in that they'll continue to sell off current stock even after a mail-order title has been discontinued until they're rid of their entire production run, or if you haven't gotten anything yet... it aint comin!

I received the same letter. Frankly, I don't feel like dealing with this company, so I'm going to cancel. I would like to see the last 5, but it seems that they've exhausted their selection of 30's and 40's cartoons, which is what I'd most like to see. Oh well...:(
