There many animated shorts that have many diffrent version.
For example shorts that have gone through Blue Ribbon or similar progress (switching original title cards with TV title cards for example), Re-entitled, Director is cut version, Re-colorizing (frame by frame/computer colorizing) of black and white shorts, Dubbed voice and music and finnaly censored version of cartoons.

To name example

Blue Ribbon verison of Daffy Duck and Egghead as does the original version

TV sindication titlecard of Popeye cartoon Customers Wanted does exist along with original theaterical version

Re-entitled verison of A Wild Hare does exist as The Wild Hare (Im not sure what to do with titles that were known as somting else.

Director is cut version does exist of Hare Ribbin' as does the original theaterical release

Mickey is Kangaroo original in Black and White does exist in computer colorized version.

There is ca 80 cartoons in the Looney Tunes/Merrie Melodys series that were originally in black and white that were recolored in hand drawn version (I could find an example as I don't known if similar methods were used else were)

Several cartoons have re-dubbed Music for example the Merrie Melody Speaking of the Weather

Several Tom and Jerry cartoons have re-dubbed voice of Mammy-Two shows also does few of them have removed the cartoon eliment some switch them with redrawned scene with white girl.

Several Looney Tunes have been censored for various reason. Click here (http://looney.goldenagecartoons.com/ltcuts/)

Donald Duck cartoon Bee on Gurd has been censored with no explaination or by mistake.

So when you mange your collection do you collect all version able of certin shorts or do you only want uncut/uncensored shorts with original title cards or do you like to have every version of the shorts that do exist. I think it is best to get the orginal version or what come next to the original verison. But it is good to be familar with other verison as well.

In terms of redrawns, there were around 80 colorized Looney Tune episodes made in 1968, almost all of the Betty Boop and Popeye cartoons were colorized in 1969-1974 and 1986 respectively. There were also a series of rare black and white cartoons (as well as some early color ones) that were colorized between 1970 and 1974, about 40 of them were made.
