Trying to remember the name of the cartoon where two boy cats are fighting over a girl cat. I seem to remember it was a fast paced cartoon with hysterical cartoon violence. But I can't come up with any more than that sorry. My mental file cabinet is jammed. Any history is welcomed. Thanks!

And did you also remember a naked baby bird doing violent things? And one of the cats had a big nose? And a bee is somehow involved? If yes, then you're thinking about...
"A Gruesome Twosome" (1945, directed by Bob Clampett)
Availavle on Looney Tunes Golden Collection volume 3, or on Youtube, with low quality.

LOL! That's it! I watched it on youtube. What a crack up. The part where they fall like bombs from the bird's nest, and then blow up on the ground. And those antique guns they keep shooting each other with. Premium stuff. Thanks all.

Those "antique guns" appear to be 1846 flintlocks. Most likley black powder, but they may be steel shot. It's hard to tell.

FYI the bird was Tweety before the Sylvester/Freleng era.

Something about the ultrared/ultrayellow cat counterpoint, the hotness of the girl cat, details like the yellow cat "melting" and Tweety's song makes me think that Clampett out-Clampetted himself this time--more than any other, it's a short that reminds me of how it's a shame his days were numbered at WB.
It may be of significance that "Kitty Kornered" produces a similar effect. Tweety, Sylvester...

Indeed. Both cartoons are a piece of art! :tweety: :sylvester
