In the Merrie Melodies airing of "Hillbilly Hare", a superimposed shot of Bugs at the end of Pumpkinhead's gun appears instead of Pumpkinhead getting shot in the face.
On ABC's 'Bugs Bunny and Tweety Show"'s edit of "Bedevilled Rabbit", the part where the She-Devil hits Taz on the head with a rolling pin is shortened.

I welcome other cuts not listed.

"Porky the Fireman" when the frantic screaming business man plunges into the smoke"Help!Help! Save Me! Get the net ready! Hurry!"-he emerges in blackface, lazily floating downward and talking like Stephen Fechit.-This was cut out of Nickelodeon's airings of the cartoon

"Porky's Railroad" edited on Nickelodeon When the Silverfish streams past a woodpile-a little black man is revealed. This probably refers to an old offensive saying-but I won't reveal it unless absolutely neccessary.

We having a discussion on that last year. Here's some ones:

Goldimouse and the Three Cats: When Goldi slaps Sylvester with a mallet, a Sylvester Jr. scene was replaced instead of the mallet scene.

The Unexpected Pest: Maybe one of the unexplained cuts in history, when the mice tried to kill himself by the iron, Sylvester saved him and the iron fall to him. The scene was completely butchered to the dynamite scene.

I don't think we should be discussing ancient racist expressions in this forum that require using offensive language to explain.

Not sure whether this would count as a TV edit, but there is also the "lost" footage of Crowing Pains that was cut due to Blue Ribbon reissuing that is (seemingly) not listed in the CCP. We won't know what was cut till LTGC 6 comes out, though!

If it applies to a cartoon that someone has a question about, I see no problem with it.

But, if it makes someone happy to not put it HERE, please PM me because I am that innocent that I have NO CLUE as to what it would be. Seriously. I am not trying to stir the pot and bring up racism under the guise of cartoon history.

Glad to see this subject is still alive. There's one I recall that I'd forgotten to submit earlier:

In ABC's post-1985 print of DUCK! RABBIT! DUCK!, there's a direct cut from Daffy pulling "Duck Season" signs to Elmer hunting with his rifle, deleting a scene of Daffy warming his hands over the fire he built out of all of the signs.

Dime to Retire: Nickelodeon at one time many years ago used to cut the entire ending with Porky leaving the hotel. So the cartoon would abruplty end after Daffy sends the mouse up to Porky's room to scare the elephant away.

I remember that scene also being changed to the guy just coming through the smoke unchanged. I have no idea if it was ABC who did that or what.

Yeah all I saw on Nick was the poor man going through that blanket of smoke-never to come out. I always wondered if he died.:D

And before Vol. 4 was released, many folks thought the "man falling through smoke, and emerging in blackface" was an urban legend.

Really? I remember seeing that cartoon in the late 70's as a kid. I didn't think it was that far removed from memory for people.

My thanks to those that have sent me a PM enlightening me with the phrase and its background. Another interesting piece of history.

From a non-WB cartoon but i just remember a other edit scene from the Walter Lantz shorts. The TV Prints cut in "Juke Box Jamboree", the scene that the mouse drink two Zowie glasses, (A alcohol drink from this picture) so kids can't know what happens why the mouse have drunking and why he sees strange creatures.
