Now this would be GREAT, if they just didn't make me double dip, spenting a heck alot of money, and the fact they're LYING (where's The Return Of The Pink Pather)!

They STILL haven't fixed whatever the deal-killer is with that one YET?!?

Return of the Pink Panther was put out by Universal a while back.

Return of the Pink Panther was put out by Universal a while back.
And without a trailer. Supposedly the trailer to "Return..." had animation of the Panther exclusive to the trailer, just like the first Panther trailer did.

I'm curious though as two what this 60 minutes of never before seen footage is, from the first film. Deleted scenes? Maybe the "Suspense Account" footage finally surfaced.

It's a nice collection but i don't give a penny of this stuff. It's look the 4th time they made it on DVD in 10 years. I have yet the Movie Collection, Curse of the Pink Panther, the Pink Panther Cartoons Vol. 1 when it's probably the only PP shorts i really liked. I think they just tried to make moneys with the new Pink Panther sequel.

I have too Return of the Pink Panther i taped a few years ago in a channel when they aired all of the Peter Sellers movie but that's don't give me the taste to buy this expensive collection, but if it's officialy released, i think lost in faith to the DVD's producers.

o Pink Panther Cartoon Collection Vol. 7: The Inspector Vol. 2 119 min.

o Pink Panther Cartoon Collection Vol. 8: Roland and Ratfink 119 min.

o Pink Panther Cartoon Collection Vol. 9: 119 min. Those discs sound appealing - hopefully they'll be released separately (though I'm not betting on it right now). I wonder what's on Volume 9 ...

Probably the last Pink Panther original cartoon shorts never released in a single disc. I wonder why this huge absence.

Forget the massive collection-I'm just estatic to hear that Roland and Rattfink will FINALLY be out on DVD! :D I'll pick that and the Inspector volume two sets up when they finally show up--alone!

As will I! It's good to hear I'm not the only person who likes R&R. As for the Inspector series, I'm still trying to get my hands on the first collection! I guess I'll just have to see if I can order it! And, of course, I'll be buying (or perhaps ordering---) the second volume as well.

Take your pick. Tijuana Toads, Hoot Kloot, Blue Racer and The Dogfather are all that's left to choose from. My vote goes to Pancho and Toro.

More likely the "Volume 9" disc will be the remainder of the Pink Panther cartoons (the contents of Disc 5 of the 5-Disc Cartoon Collection box set) which haven't been reissued as part of the single-disc series yet.

Am I the only person interested in knowing what this "60 minutes of never-before-seen" footage from the first film is? Deleted scenes? Outtakes? Deleted Panther animation? What?

The fifth disc, IIRC, was bonus features and previews of the Ant & Aardvark and Inspector sets. I don't believe there were any actual cartoons on there. I'd have to pull out my discs and look but I'm pressed for time today.

The fifth disc contains the remaining PP cartoons from "The Pink of Bagdad" (1978) through "Supermarket Pink" (1980) and the bonus features.

As mentioned in another thread on GAC, recently released in Germany were "The Ant and the Aardvark", Inspector 1 and Inspector 2 which had never been released before in Germany. IF the others should be released I will make a post.

The following is from my post on the HMF forum:

In August 2006 in Germany all 6 films including the Return was issued in a 7 DVD Box. On the slipcase were the logos of MGM, Sony and Universal. The 7th disc has extras. This box is long out of print. On the slipcase stated "Film Collection remastered" for the 5 films - NOT Return.
-------------------------
The above list of films is a bit confusing in the sequence and names of the films. The following films have Peter Sellers:

The Pink Panther (NOT "The Pink Panther Collector’s Edition")
A Shot in the Dark

Return of the Pink Panther (NOT included - Universal)

The Pink Panther Strikes Again
Revenge of the Pink Panther
Trail of the Pink Panther (with bits and pieces of the deceased Peter Sellers)
---------------------------------
The following do not have Peter Sellers:

Curse of the Pink Panther
Son of the Pink Panther
Inspector Clouseau

The Pink Panther (2006)
--------------------------
NOTE: Missing from the "Pink Panther Ultimate Collection" is the extras disc.

I have the German Inspector DVD. Received it today and gave it a spin. Happily, the menus, the MGM and Fox menus, even the anti-piracy warnings and trailer are all in English, and the disc defaults to no
subtitles. If it weren't for the disc art and the keep case, the disc could be taken as a R2 U.K. disc (and even PAL speed-up isn't all that noticable).

Glad to finall have a full DVD collection of Pink Panther, Inspector, Ant & Aardvark cartoons.

I suspect when it is released in the UK, the DVD will be the same excluding cover art.

I wonder if MGM had control over there own product shorts, if they would have done better job with Tom and Jerry than Warners. As for Tex Averys shorts and so on.

from Barrie Maxwell at digitalbits.com:

MGM has now announced that the nine discs of Pink Panther cartoons (that will be included in its November 18-disc set of Pink Panther movies and cartoons) will also be released as a stand-alone 9-disc set on January 27th. It'll be called The Pink Panther and Friends Classic Cartoon Collection. Also due on the same day are standard DVD and Blu-ray versions of the new special edition of The Pink Panther (1963) that is included in November's 18-disc set.
