I have a thing for them. My earliest memories of Looney Tunes are the PD sepia toned ones that used to be on a lot of cheap tapes when I was a youngin'. Also, the only US TV station we had was Super Channel. I remember watching sepia toned cartoons on there a lot before movies and such.
I'm just wondering is it possible to collect pretty much all or even most of them on the one PD collection. And if not, is there any one out there who could give me some good tips on which collections I could obtain at least a bunch of them, Particularly the ones that star Porky Pig.
Any information would be most helpful. P.S. I'm aware of how weird I am. :p

I suppose PD tapes/DVDs or trading with members on this forum (I have no sepia LT's so I can't help you out).
Sepia tone is neat in the sense that it makes the films look more vintage. I, personally, would want to see official releases contain cartoons as they were ORIGINALLY RELEASED.

I don't recall seeing any sepia-toned Looney Tunes. The only sepia-toned cartoons that I recall are the "Captain and the Kids" cartoons made by MGM. I don't particularly care for these cartoons. And I do recall seeing a yellow-toned version of "Hollywood Capers" (an old Looney Tune featuring Beans the cat).

I could trade with anyone on this site. Only problem is, I only have one thing worth trading in. That's the green stuff. :D

You should have no shame about wanting to have certain versions of films that are sentimental to you; for that was the same way I was introduced to Looney Tunes (as well as the redrawn versions) on 1980s pd tapes.
I have hundreds of such tapes and probably all the sepia toned films that circulated on them, so feel free to drop me a line if you want to work something out. ;)

Just like I remember it, slowed to a crawl and very fuzzy!

I suspect that the memory of sepia tone LOONEY TUNES on PD tapes are the result of an "artificial" illusion caused by not turning off the chroma on black and white prints during the telecine transfer. There is also a means of tinting electronically as well. But 16mm sepia tone prints were not in common distribution, and the majority of the prints used in these PD collections were abandoned TV prints that were black and white.
While CAPTAIN AND THE KIDS are on record as having been released in 35mm in sepia tone, they were broadcast on LATE NIGHT BLACK AND WHITE in monochrome (Black and White).

So are you saying that those cartoons were released in theaters sepia-toned during the 1930's?
