Ladies and gentlemen, let me warn you of what happens when you discover the secrets to winning at claw machines, and that the claw machine at the grocery store you go to at least twice a week is cheap, easy and always full of stuff. Also that the claw machine at the local Wal-Mart is pretty easy at certain times.
Keep dropping quarters and winning now and then over a period of 3 or 4 years, and be careful, THIS might happen to you!

A few of these may turn up on ebay at some point...I'll let you folks know when they do, if you're interested. Seriously...they're beginning to invade my apartment!

Lucky.
Last time I won any crane game was two years ago.

Nice! I have several Looney Tunes, Popeye, Mighty Mouse and Lantz characters but have never seen any non-Scooby HB. I wouldn't mind having that Hong Kong Phooey.

I must be going to all the wrong arcades - I've never found any Looney Tunes plush in any crane game I've seen! All I ever find are cheapo stuffed versions of characters from Bee Movie and Kung-Fu Panda - I think DreamWorks has the crane game market cornered around my neighborhood.

At a diner, I watched a child try in vain to win at one of these claw machines for a good half-hour. She spent six dollars before giving up, running to her mother screaming about how she hates the world and wants sweets. It was out of order the whole time.

I'll just repeat my post from the Misce-Looney-Us blog from last May:
Actually, it would be more appropriate if the grip machine had stuffed dolls of Popeye, Betty Boop and Koko in it, since if you check the database for the original U.S. government patent, you find:
1770305 Jul, 1930 Fleischer.

What's with the green Taz?
There was a "multicolored Taz" series released by Nanco, the company that makes most of these things. I've seen green, red, purple and blue as well. I've also seen a red Tweety, so I imagine they did a similar series with him as well. For the record, Garfield got the same treatment.

Well, I've seen Popeye characters from time to time, but the only one I've managed to get is the "Mardi Gras" Popeye in the photo. I've also seen Bluto and Olive Oyl, and "baby" versions of Popeye and Olive, who look extremely ugly! Thank God they never did a Baby Popeye cartoon series!

Yeah, I thought Popeye was supposed to be the king of the Mardi Gras.

The Fraggle you have there is named Boober (Buber?) I believe.

Nice collection, but what I want to know is, what's is this "secret" I've heard people refer to? When I've won, it has more to do with "that's light enough and positioned right" than anything else!

Nobody else nearby and a nice, big brick. Or baseball bat, either works.

For a second there-I thought that that green Taz was suppose to be like the Incredible Hulk!:D I've never actually played a stuffed animal crane game. My boyfriend won one and got me a fairly large stuffed Stitch!
